Oxford Dictionary of Quotations

I love this book so much that I even dragged it from the UK all the way to a mud hut in the middle of nowhere between the border of Nepal and Tibet! I am writing my own book and went up there for the peace to write it. I found this book so inspirational to dip in and out of. Many of the quotes were so fitting to how our felt. I bought one for my mother too who loves words and she very much enjoys it as well.

I love this tome for browsing or seeking that certain saying, and it has them all. Packed with all the obvious and obscure, a treasure trove of brilliant human expression.

Having had the book for a lot longer now I don't think it is as good as it first appeared. It is isn't as extensive as it appeared at first and I have found several misquotes and factual errors. it is more of a fun read than a 'go to' reference book. Might make a quick fun Christmas gift for a coffee table, but someone who really like quotes will probably find it not to a high standard.

Excellent collection of quotes and well edited and organised. I deal companion for any writer, especially for those producing content where a snappy quote is useful. A number I hadn’t come across on the internet as well.

Bought this to make me sound smarter. Hasn't really worked out that way, but it is a big book and just having it on my bookshelf makes me seem slightly smarter

Not exactly the version shown ~ but it cost a whole 1p!!An ex American-library book that was/is in as near perfect-a-condition as possible.I really cannot fault it in any way at all ~ even if it had been full price I couldn't fault it...but at 1p!! Quite possibly the best value-for-money item I shall ever buy.
