Excellent intellectual stimulation, and well built
I have a 60lb lab and a 35lb mutt, and this has been a great puzzle for both of them. We had to teach them to pick up the pegs instead of knocking them over to get to the treats, but they learned quickly and it has made the puzzle more interactive/last longer. It took them a while to figure out how to slide the pegs in the track- which I liked because it gave them something to work on. The ONLY down side I've seen is that my lab has chomped down on the pegs and put a few holes in the wood in his excitement. might be nice for a little sturdier pegs for the enthusiastic dogs like mine :). It definitely is NOT a toy you can walk away from - it's interactive for both you and the dog, but it's a great way to provide intellectual stimulation for your dog and get them to think.

The product is good, but I needed something more challenging
I got this for my lab/spaniel mix. She is a really smart dog, and I wanted to get her a puzzle for her since she's mastered the "kong" ( the genius level) and I thought this would be trickier than a kong. Unfortunately she figured this out in seconds. The wood cylinders just need to be tipped over so they were easy to figure out. There are other smaller cylinders that need to be slid to open (this did take her some more time to figure out) two of them slide straight and one has a curve - which is a little more tricky - but even if she accidentally bumps them, they slide. The materials are nice though, the base is sturdy and solid, and the pieces are solid wood (I wouldn't recommend for a puppy though, my brother's chocolate lab pup was going to eat the pieces - not a good idea). My girl still loves playing with this puzzle though as it is more different than anything she's had before, but it's only a few minutes of playing with it before she figures it out - if you have a very intelligent dog - I would recommend something more complex and challenging than this.

Broke First Day
I bought this for by Bishon puppy who chewed it up into little bits on the first day. The puzzle itself is a great idea, but the wood does not seem like a good material for it. It would be much better if it was made out of plastic.

Like Godzilla in Tokyo, my 'chi' loves this toy.
My dog loves this dog 'pizza.' She is a 10 year old Chihuahua and although she mastered it fairly quickly, it is nice to play with in contrast to the harder toy I have from Nina Oskarsson which she can't ever master because she has learned to cheat with it by twisting the bones instead of picking them up.In this puzzle, she simply cannot cheat, and HAS to push the blocks over to get to the goodies inside. It is a kick to see her knock the blocks down like she is Godzilla. Since she has only 3 teeth (she came that way to from the shelter), she can still manage to use this toy with her paws, nose and jaws. she is quite clever with it, even managing to get the sliding pegs out sometimes. This is a fun toy, and I use it nearly daily with her.

Not challenging at all.
I was hoping this toy would provide at least a few minutes of entertainment for my dog, but the first time I set it down for him he figured out how to get the treats out within 5 seconds. The tall pegs just fall over when he nudges them with his nose and the sliding ones take no effort to move across the track and reveal the treat.Do not buy this product, you might as well hand your dog the treat.

Not perfect but still great.
I purchased the Zanies Wood interactive toy for my two girls. They already have some puzzle experience so I was looking for something that was different than the standard sliding puzzle. I'm very happy with this. My one girl is in no way gentle with toys so I was pleased to see that the base of this is heavy and well constructed. I love that there are no scent holes in the pegs as it makes it more challenging. The only way this could be better is if it were more difficult to remove the pegs from the holes. They come out rather easily because the edge of the circle is beveled down towards the treat hole, so for beginner dogs it's good but more advanced puzzle solvers, not so much. They still love it though and that makes me very happy. As with all these kinds of games supervision is a must, particularly because the pegs are not attached to the board in anyway so if you give this to your dog and walk away or turn around they will most likely chew the pegs, so for the love of god do it right and keep your eyes on them and don't blame the toy when the dog chews it.

Really Fun
I bought this toy to have some fun with my dog that was different than teaching a trick. It was (is) everything I expected. My 9 yr old golden ret/Collie mix worked it with me several times and soon had dialed in on the idea. He plows his nose across the pegs to get them out of the way, then works on sliding the sliding ones. I don't think he has it nailed 100%, but that's ok it gives him a challange each time I bring it out. His friend, a pure golden, takes great pride in taking out the pegs one by one and handing them carefully to his people. He thinks that is the challenge! Frustrated with the ones that don't come out. That is a working golden for you! It is definatly a toy that takes supervision, and will be quickly chewed up without people to coach.

Meh, it's okay.
This toy seemed like a good idea, but it actually only lasts a few minutes. Mostly my problem is that the wood of the wooden pieces is very soft, so as soon as my dog plucked the removable wooden pegs from the board there were teeth marks in them. That being said, my dog was interested in this toy and would have loved for me to leave him with the whole board so he could carry it around and gnaw on it. I think that this toy is a little on the expensive side for the amount of entertainment it provided.

Great for cats!
I bought this originally for my dog, but have used it with my cat. Since the surface is like a compressed cardboard, I figure the saliva of the dog would reduce it's life...but, like mentioned earlier, my cat finds it compelling.

My 7 mos old Rottie just knocked it over and ate same with my 4 mos old they have done many brain games this is just too easy for them to dump over I supervised and they still chewed the pegs! Last time I buy wood. Probably OK for small breeds My Rotties just destroyed it in 3 minutes. Literally dumped it upside down. Not a challenge for them at all

Pegs are a dangerous size/choke size
The pegs are a dangerous size for dogs do NOT leave this where you dog can chew on it when your not watching! It seems to be too easy for my dog but a nice start to puzzles for him

Great Toy!
This is a great interactive puzzle. Its still not hard enough for our puppy (Labradoodle) though as he completes it fairly fast.He also really likes chewing on the wood blocks when he is done so I am now having to go looking for replacements (well soon). I may just buy a long dowel type stick from Lowes and cut it up for replacement parts.Great toy though. There are others from the same company that are a little harder.
