Did not fit and started grinding in less than 3 months
as the headline says and some other reviews mentioned the fan's casing is not the same shape as the original fan for the gs65 meaning that if you want to use it you have to cut off a portion of the casing partially compromising the performance of the cooling system as some of the exhausted heat will be blown back on the motherboard. In addition I bought this fan on may 19th after the original had completely stopped working, but as of July 1st (less than 3 months later) began hearing a grinding and unnatural whining sound on startup similar to what the original began doing before it stopped working. The final problem I have with this replacement is that it is a lower RPM fan than the original meaning that the thermal performance was even lower compounding with the above issues with thermals as a result of the required modifications to even use the fan.

Solid replacement fan
The replacement fan is a good but not perfect fit in place of the stock fan. That said, the fitment is still decent. However, once installed, it became noticeably quieter than the CPU fan, which was not replaced at the same time. Now even under full load, the GS65 stays relatively quiet. Too bad the unit did not include any replacement black tape that covers the fan and the exhaust fins. Either way, solid part, solid value.

UPDATED - [DOES NOT] Works perfectly!
Installing laptop fans sucks, and this was no exception. It did turn out I was able to remove the fans without also removing the CPU and GPU heatsinks, so that saved me some headache. They fit my MSI P65 Creator 8RF 441 laptop perfectly, and they have been going strong for a few months.UPDATE 9/10/2022 - The fans are mostly dead and making a lot of horrible noises. I'm going to try a different brand, and when I replace this laptop I will not be getting another MSI.

Running great
EDIT 3/23/20:Well as stated in my original review, the product worked perfectly on arrival. After about a week of pretty average use, one of the fans (the bigger, black one) started to be inconsistent with its speed, make occasional scraping noises, and sometimes stop completely, not being able to move until I take the back off the laptop and spin it a few times manually. This will get it going again, but with the same inconsistent speeds and rattling noises. I'm downgrading my review to 2 stars for now - I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and order another one. If that one fails, 1 star and no more of my business.Just installed this fan into my GS65 and it works perfectly. Only complaint is that is seems to run at a slightly lower RPM than the OEM fan. This one runs at ~6500 max, while the OEM one would reach ~7200 (in my experiences). I doubt it will impact performance much but it is something to take note of if you're trying to squeeze every last frame out of your laptop. It does come with two small tools (a screwdriver and a prying tool), both of which are cheap and not very useful. You can get the job done with them, but you will need a LOT of patience; the screwdriver doesn't latch onto the fan's screws particularly well. I recommend having a tiny phillips screwdriver handy. Also note: No thermal paste needed! Removing the fan can be done without messing with the cooling pipes. There are a few pieces of black tape that needed to be removed, but once those were off, installation was very straightforward.Since this review is being posted just an hour or two after I installed it, I cannot speak to the longevity of the fan. As of now, easy 5 stars. Will update this review should anything change.

Lasted last than a year
Bought the fan in November of 2021, died on August 2022. While it lasted, it worked well; too short of a lifespan.

Better then the original
My fan started to make noise after about a year, I bought this replacement and it’s great, less noise then the original fan, and my CPU & GPU temperatures are lower then before, it’s a bit intimidating to replace as the motherboard is upside down, however it’s actually very easy, be sure to watch a YouTube tutorial (twice) before you start, to make sure you don’t miss any wire, there is no need to disable all the fans assembly and reapply thermal paste, there are 4-5 little screws just for the fan itself, you will see them once you take out the motherboard.

Works well; Expect a 0 rpm rating until 5 or so minutes later.
---Item was originally defective; went to order another one, shipped the defective one back within 7 days.Just got charged again by amazon for this product. Don't know what happened, but not enjoying this service or product at this point.Bought this for my GS65; works well so far. Upon installing it, I noticed a "0 rpm" rating in dragon. After putting turbo on and running some games, the fan speed clocked in properly.Run's nicely. We'll see if I get death rattling again. For those who need to replace the tape that was on the vents; Use thermally conductive tape and back the other side with kapton non electrically conductive tape; the two items are worth keeping on hand if you do your own repairs anyway.Apparently all of these gs65 fans can be cleaned and greased; including this kit here. Simply clean the dust off, push the propellor off and put a few drops of oil inside the bearing that is in the middle of all the transformers. Replace the propellor and reinstall; Wish I knew this before hand; already spent about 50 replacing the cpu and gpu fans; but at the least, I now have a 5 year warranty once the 4 year is added.--8RF--The fan went bad within a week of a clean installation ( without removing entire heatsink); this may just likely be due to the fact that these things were made a while ago. Amazon replaced the fan and I got the 2nd one a day after talking with a representative. The product looks good; gona go again and see what happens this time: these thin type laptops beat thiese fans up very often!
