There is an old adage of Look before you leap and that is so true of this Belt Grinder I really should have read the information more carefully because when it arrived I was somewhat disappointed with its size (its way smaller than i expected however after using it for a few months now it's actually quite handy for sharpening knives and scissors and chisels as well as other small jobs that require sanding

Useful addition to use on small parts, this isn't a mean machine, just a desktop belt sander. It does support forward and reverse direction. The controller input and output are marked in Chinese. If it doest adjust speed correctly, just swap the cables over. Putting connectors in wrong position doesn't damage anything, it just won't run correctly.Supplied with a pack of different grade belts, it is a useful but limited tool, not really suitable for the bigger jobs, belts are approximately 10mm wide.

Setup the day I got it, variable power did not work plug it in by the adapter got hot straight awayand started to nurn and smoke. Unplug it and pack it up for return.

Product arrived but speed controller was smashed into many tiny pieces. Looks to have been damaged prior to packaging by Amazon. Speed controller is in a very flimsy plastic box and was just packed in with the very heavy and solid belt grinder with very little protection. If you want the grinder which looks OK don't buy the speed controller or else buy a speed controller separately.

Not suitable for pictured knife sharpening, I would say ideal for model makers as belts very narrow.

I like the item very much it's so versatile.
