Age of Conquests: The Greek World from Alexander to Hadrian (336 BC – AD 138)

Very good introduction into the Hellenistic World
The book provides an easy to understand narrative of the main events from Alexander to Hadrian. But the best chapters are those describing society and religion in this period. The many quotations of sources in translation make the narrative lively. All in all, a good read.

Excellent book without excessive detail. Very prompt arrival

Very Detailed History
Although I found this book interesting I thought it was too detailed. By providing information about nearly every inter-polis conflict I think it was too much the trees instead of the forest. Because of the unfamiliarity of many of the Greek names a guide to pronunciation would also have been helpful to a smoother reading.
