Principles for Success Hardcover – Illustrated, November 26, 2019

I really like this book. The author is truly a master at investing, and his principles are easy to follow. It goes into the Principles he created over the years that helped him become very successful. He also has a more comprehensive version of this book that goes into much greater detail. This book is not only great for teaching kids but also easy to read for adults who don’t particularly enjoy reading. It provides practical steps to help change the way you think and approach things. It’s definitely a book I’ve recommended and gifted to others. Every time I’ve loaned it to friends, they’ve found it incredibly helpful. I especially appreciate how a simple technique from the book can create a big change in someone’s life.

I loved this book. It had been recommended to me by a friend who had bought it for her grandson. I bought it to give to my granddaughter. But I read it first. I wish i'd had a book like this when I was 18, or 25, for even 35 or 45. I am 78 now and it's a bit too late to use the principals for success. The best I can do now is to give the book to others who still have time to implement them. This author has written a regular "adult" version, which my friend is reading. She says it"s a bit of a slog, but the author lists out his principals in a fuller, thus more complicated way. I think the main point is to make goals, keep going even if you fail, make decisions that take you in the right direction. And never give up! Anyone can benefit from this small, accessible book, maybe even someone in their twilight years.

I found that I prefer to flip through this book than the actual book as an adult. That being said, it's not much a storybook but rather a collection of concepts. I don't think a kid would be able to read and remember most of this information in one book. Since there are not many examples or interactive prompts to expand on the concepts, it would be up to the parent to come up with them to help the kid understand the concepts.

Ray Dallio's book can be read in a couple of hours, but to reflect and understand the full meaning of his writings and to interweave or merge with one's own life may take years. This book is a follow up of modern Confucius wisdom of "Think Three Times, then proceed........"

Good read.

Amazingly he is enjoying it, and taking some of the advice to heart already. My original plan with this book was to just get him started young on hearing these principles with the idea that over years and years he would incorporate them in his life. But to my surprise he has already applied some of what he has learned and has more than once asked me to ready him more of the book. That said it definitely takes some translation for a kid of his age, because lets face it the "goals" of a 4 year old are quite different then a "Ray Dalio". But the language can scaled down to something more relatable to younger children. I have read the adult book myself and find that this is possible the most important book I have ever read!

I read “Principles for Life and Work” when it was published. I studied it, more than read it, and I loved it. When I saw this short version I thought it be great for my kids and staff. If you like this book I recommend you read the full version.

Huge reader of Ray’s daily posts on LinkedIn. He’s a thinker and a great sharer of information. The book is ok. It was written for his grandchildren, but will probably go above their heads. His religion of self, Big Bang, machines was a surprise? I thought he was smarter than that, but worldly success clouds for certain.The principles he outlines are simple and easily digestible, but if you are a reader of his adult books and love them, this will probably miss the mark.
