Perfect Surf Fishing over the shoulder tackle bag
Works great for daily surf fishing pack. Carries what you need. For those people who are wondering about a rod holder and how many boxes it can hold, this is what I have done: I am able to fit two 3600 series stowaway boxes in the main compartment, fit one pocket size tackle organizer box in the secondary outside pocket, I place my keys/cell phone (S7) in the most extreme pocket, I place 3 small spools of fluorocarbon leader within the eye glass pocket, I utilized the Velcro on the right side to hold my hand gaff, I place my forceps in the pocket on the left side and last but not least I inserted a 7 inch length (2 inch diameter) schedule C PVC pipe within the bottom slot (inserted from the left side) and using the existing Velcro strap to hold the PVC pipe in place. The PVC pipe is used for my rod holder which is accessible if the shoulder strap is worn over the right shoulder. In this situation, you are able to sling the pack around in front of you, then placing your rod into the PVC pipe and situate all of your zippers on top for easy access to each compartments. I am very impressed with this bag and endorse this product. IMHO- I would refrain from overloading the bag with excess weight (i.e. lead sinkers, etc.) since your shoulder could get fatigued over a few hours of fishing. I was thinking of added a Velcro shoulder pad which may help distribute the weight for additional comfort.

Great value, highly recommended!
This is a perfect little multi use pack. I'm using it as a fishing bag currently and couldn't be more pleased with its utility. I fish mostly in California's Sierra Nevada so usually short/intermediate hikes are necessary to get at the fish. It's well constructed from solid nylon with ample pockets, straps, rings and hold downs in every conceivable place. The main strap is sturdy and very long and can be rigged in multiple configurations as well as removed completely. The main compartment is big enough for stacked plano boxes or a single + lunch. The straps on the front panel are molle compatible so the pack could be further expanded that way. While I don't intend to do this now, one could easily strap a breakdown rod to this thing for an extended hike. The strap also keeps it in one place on your back and mine arrived with a long small strap which could be used as a waist strap on a smaller person (I'm a 38 waist and it was a bit too short for me, but still experimenting). If this pack had a name like Simms attached to it it would be $100 more. Overall, great value.

Perfect size with a lot of options for organizing gear!
I keep a fishing bag and a few rods in the back of my SUV for most of the year. I usually keep the bag packed with a little bit of everything since I usually do my fishing with little to no notice or planning. Wife is working late, fish. Got out of the office early, fish. This bag was obviously designed by someone who has actually tried to carry a lot of fishing gear. It has pockets, D-rings, and straps to hold all kinds of gear and most of it would be stored within easy reach. Nothing worse than having a personal best on the line and having to do a one-handed dig for a tool. None of that with this bag. All of the stitching seems well done and sturdy. The top handle is particularly well done. I have a similar bag that I’ve used since last spring and that was one of the big things that needed improvement. This bag’s handle is attached better and easier to grab.If I could change one thing, it would be the water bottle holder. I wish it was larger. I tend to hike into a lot of my fishing spots and carry a large camelbak bottle with me. It doesn’t fit. I found a good place to clip it on, though. The bottle holder may make a good spot for powerbait jars when I go out for trout. I’ll try to update this once my winter ritual or cleaning and re-organizing my bag is done and everything is packed into this bag for the season. I’m looking forward to fitting this out as my main bag this year.

Super cool and PERFECT!!!
This tackle pack is perfect! I was shopping around for a regular tackle box with a handle and came across this. It had good reviews, so I bought it. I used it once and going fishing again soon. I can't wait to use it again. It's not huge but enough room to put a couple little tackle trays in the big pocket and everything you need in the other pockets. For me, the whole pack carries my two tackle trays, my fillet knife, a bag of bobbers, a jar of power bait, my multiple utility knife/tool and straps my fishing pole and net to it. I even have another pocket I don't use but it's about cell phone size. It's super convenient, especially when hiking up to a lake. You just strap it on and go. It keeps everything together so you can be hands free or have your hands free for a cooler etc.

This bag is perfect and fits bigger people
This bag is AMAzing! I use it for fishing and when you have younger fishermen, they have a tendency to want to change their bait choices often. This bag makes it simple to do without touching the ground. It has a long strap (I'm a big person) and it fits over me with extra room. I carry it with my pole easily and then swing it around to my front for easy access. All of my gear fits into this bag and has it's own special area for tucking, sliding, clipping or hanging with all of the pockets, straps, clips (extra clips), and straps. It is simple the best bag I've used and I was skeptical going from a box to a bag.
