Can’t wait to play! 🎃
I’ve purchased other murder in a box and this is by far better than the others. The photos are very detailed and we all can’t wait to play at our all family Halloween party this weekend. We’re all dressing up as each character and making the suggested menu too. I’ll attach photos of what I found inside. Definitely 2 👍🏼

A great 1st murder mystery dinner game for beginners!
We bought this game for a halloween dinner party. It was alot of fun! Everyone loved it and it was funny to see everyone embrace the characters they were given. This was our first murder mystery game and we can't wait to do more now! I would definitely recommend this game to anyone interested in doing a murder mystery dinner game, this was also a good one for your first one, the instructions were very helpful.

Great Halloween Murder Mystery Party!
I purchased "A Taste of Transylville Terror" a few years ago, directly from the Ace Murder Mystery website. Even though I am a customer in the United States, my game was shipped fairly quickly and I had no problems with the game. When I got word that Ace was now selling the games through Amazon, I just had to write to tell everyone what a great company Ace is, and how awesome their games are. Even though we played this game a few years ago, at one of my Halloween parties, it is still fondly remembered and talked about by those of us who played it. In fact, now that I have a new group of friends who attend my murder-mystery parties, I'm thinking of playing this one again. The game is simple to play and tons of fun. Like all the Ace Murder Mystery games, you get a mix of famous characters, as well as famous historical figures. Of course, being a Halloween game, this one gives you the opportunity to play your favorite monsters! Morticia and Gomez von Adums are celebrating their anniversary on Halloween, when the local village beauty is murdered. Due to the circumstances of her death, the villagers are pointing the finger of blame at all the local creatures of the night. Besides the von Adums family, the group includes Dracula and his vampire bride, the Frankenstein Monster, the Wicked Witch, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (one in the same man), and Cruella Le DeVille. The game is played with 8 murder suspects, four men and four women. You are given everything you need to play, including character booklets for each guest, an investigator's report and secret clues that will be opened and revealed during the course of the game. The game is played in 3 rounds. At the start of the game, the guests introduce themselves, and before each of the three rounds there is scripted dialogue that each guest reads, sort of like a small act in a play. Each round then contains both questions to ask other guests, as well as answers to other people's questions. To simplify things, the questions and answers are in numbered order. This works great, especially towards the end of the night as the wine is flowing and you're guests may start to lose their places. In addition, the game comes with beautifully illustrated invitations to mail or hand deliver, and 2 CD's. 1 CD has a few tracks of dialogue from your "host" for the evening. These tracks are mostly used to introduce the mystery at the beginning of the party, and then act as introductions for each round. The ending to the party is also contained on the final track (which I'll get to in a moment). The second CD is a track of various sound effects this is great to put off in a corner of your room. The sound effects are spread out, and pop on when you least expect them, and they add a nice touch to the atmosphere. I used this CD, along with a thunder and lightening soundtrack and it worked great. The main reason I give this product 5 stars is because of the writing. Not many murder mystery parties are so well written. Not only are the skits, as well as the questions and answers extremely funny, but very tongue in cheek. But being a mystery fan, what really makes this party work is the fact that Ace makes sure to create a solvable murder mystery, with fair play clues. I can't stand some boxed games that just seem to randomly pull the name of the killer out of thin air. All Ace Murder Mystery games have fair play clues and when the solution is revealed, you can sit back and say, "oh yes, now I see it." What I also liked about this game, was that it comes with 2 extra characters. Lurchio the butler and Poison Ivy. Both characters are extras and they are not suspects. The guests will know this at the start of the party. However, unlike other boxed games, the extra characters have their own parts and your extra guests won't feel left out. The party is written so that they can ask questions and are given lines in each act's dialogue. However, if you are not using one or both extra parts, their lines and questions simply go to another suspect instead. I think this is a clever addition to the game. And finally, Ace likes to write a few dramatic scenes in their games to get your guests up off their chairs with something special, say a fight between two characters or some other dramatic scene. And at the end of the game, when you're guests give their guesses as to who they think the murderer is, there's a special ending to the game. Based on how the majority of your guests vote, the person with the most votes becomes "the groups" answer and this will determine the outcome of the ending to the game. The killer is the same no matter what, but there's a special twist to this games end that you'll have to buy the product to see. But believe me, it adds an extra dose of fun to the affair. My guests had a great time and it was fun to dress up as some famous monsters (and at Halloween very easy to obtain costumes). Each monster has it's own quirky habits that are fun to play. For example, I enjoyed playing the role of Frankenstein's monster. One of my favorite things was that as I was looking for a woman, most of my lines involved me saying to the female characters, "You just my type." I played him as a naive bumbling monster and it was a hit. I can't say enough great things about this game. So if your looking for a murder mystery party that is high quality and just simply so much fun to play, try this one. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
