SHIMANO Altus Shift Lever 7-Speed SL-M315

Many twist shifters are tough to operate for kids and the one on my daughter's 7-speed was no exception. After trying every possible trick to reduce the friction, I decided to toss it out and install this rapid-fire lever system instead.The unit arrived 5 days earlier than expected and installation was very quick since the unit comes with an attached cable. Simply remove the old bar grips, twist shifter, and right brake lever. Then slide in the new shifter, brake lever, and new bar grips (use a little dish soap to get the grips on). Then remove the old shift cable from the derailleur, pull it out of the lines, then thread in the new cable and secure it. I only had to do some very minor tuning to get the gears to shift properly.20 minutes later my 5-year-old was shifting up and down the gears with ease for her first time. I highly recommend this solution over any grip shift setup, especially for kids.

I got this to replace my kids bicycle shifter that broke in less than a month . Product was was as described , 7 speed and not 3 as in the picture . Installation was easy and my kid has her smile back .Product arrived in a timely manner . Price I think was also right .

Replaced a grip shift on my kids mountain bike. Its not a very customizable shifter but it gets the job done and puts the gears where she needs it when we ride. Easy to instal, comes with everything you need to get it running. Just make sure you have a compatible rear derailleur.

This has incorrect details which say that "RAPIDFIRE PLUS technology is suited to quick shifting, giving riders the ability to downshift three gears in one stroke2WAY-RELEASE means shifts can be released by pull of the index finger or push of the thumb". This does not have a 2-way release so don't think this is different than your current Altus M315.

Solid seven speed shifter. Indexes smoothly. I used it to replace the stock broken shifter on my e-bike. My only issue was that the long shifter levers interfere with the throttle of my eBike. But that's no fault of the product.

I have never installed one of these before, my limited experience meant it took a while for me to get it adjusted by trial and error, but once installed and adjusted it works great. Great deal for the price.

My son has a 20inch giant mountain bike that original came with a 7 speed twist shifter. HeWas definitely having a hard time shifting thru the gears. We found this 7 speed trigger shifter. I couldn’t be any happier with the results. Very simple to install. ( found a easy video on YouTube, (kids twist grip shifter to trigger upgrade) highly recommend this product!
