Goats Head Soup always suffered a bad press coming after Exile and before Its Only Rock n Roll. That was compounded by a truly awful, muddy 70s mix. Well thanks to Giles Martin ( and presumably Abbey Road studios expertise) the album now truly rocks, the songs are up front & centre and it can now hold its own against more exulted Stones albums.I for one cannot wait for Giles to be let loose on its Only Rock N Roll, and say it quietly, Exile on Main Street as well.

Was NOT going to buy another version of the album (already had vinyl and previously issued CD) ... but when basic 1CD re-mix was made available for only £5.99 I though "why not" ... (and I don't need the 2 other new tracks on the deluxe which I'd proabably won't play ... and I never really re-visit demo versions, alternate takes, etc.)So glad I bought this re-mixed version which brings the previously muddy songs to life and lets them shine / breathe. Dancing with Mister D really "works", 100 Years Ago is crystal clear with great guitar interplay, Coming Down Again is brought to life, Doo Doo was always a great tune - hear the horns "pop", Angie always will be a Stones highlight ... I could go on but check it out for yourself ... and also take time to listen carefully to the remix of Winter which is so good ...Hopefully we can hear updated versions of It's Only rock and Roll (especially Time Waits for No One) and Black and Blue ... that would be cool .... especially for £5.99!!

One of their most neglected albums brought back to life .I have the 2009 remaster and the latest 2020 one,I highly recommend the latest remaster for its clarity , enhanced vocal , music production. Let's hope they do the same with Black and Blue

This is a great cd. Got a lot of new stuff on it but also some Great old favorites. Yes if you love the stones buy this cd.
