Yes, it will work for any hole. You'll need it a bit deeper for your 20 ft pole than for my 8 ft fence posts.

Q: Will a person of short stature find this comfortable to use?

I am 6’1” and I find them comfortable to use. They have cushion grip and are weighted just right to help penetrate the ground but not too heavy to cause operator fatigue. Without knowing your particular reach I cannot say how well they would fit your hands. You could possibly grab lower on the handles to start your post hole. They are well made

Solid and heavy

Good solid tool for digging holes. The weight of the posthole digger really helps with getting through clay.

Great tool!

Used this tool to re-dig some post holes after removing old post. It worked excellent! We have softer, sandy soil so if you live in an area with clay it might be difficult, or if you’re digging your holes from 0. It made my fence build so much easier!

Suspect decimal point error on weight. Also shovel does not close so loose dirt is a problem. Angle of closure (as I said not fully closed) requires about a 20 inch hole at the top if you go deep. Have not even started to use it yet.
