Works great

Well made but the spring that came with it was way too strong but changed it with one with 1/2 it's strength and works great.Easy to use

Excellent shears, weak saw

I bought this to replace one that I had simply worn out. The installation was simple and quick, and it cuts very well. The saw attachment, though, has a tendency to come unmoored unless its one connecting wingnut is VERY tight.

Not bad for the price

This is not a high quality tree pruner but you arent buying it because its high quality. But most likely you are buying it because you have a few branches that need cut and paying for an expensive one just to cut a branch or two every once and awhile makes no sense. At least thay was my reasoning. With that in mind I gave it 5 stars because it was very cheap but gets the job done. I didnt see any glaring flaws. I took the handle off my leaf rake and put it on this to cut one particularly annoying but large branch and it worked as expected. The saw is very sharp but somewhat flexible. Therefore you will need do pull cuts and then sort of lift the blade out of the cut a little and then pull again. So in summary if you have multiple large branches all over the yard you might consider spending more. But if its just one now and then and paying $100 for a pruning saw doesnt appeal to you this is the saw for you.

Light weight use only

OK, so the pricing was good, and if you have a lightweight job you may be happy with it. I bought it for what I thought was a small job, well under their 1" cutting guidance which I now know to be rather optimistic. I suggest you consider it good only up to 3/4" for very soft wood, and maybe 1/2" to 5/8" perhaps for harder wood trees. The unit's hook bent and had to be straightened a few times (to get blade to close again without trying to cut into hook). The supplied pull rope frayed and broke early (I replaced it with some paracord which is holding up far better). The pulley system held up for the first job, but is already looking a bit tweaked. I wish I had spent a little more for a more durable unit.

Junk

Bought this with the expectation of being able to saw down dead limbs and trim live ones. The saw blade is so flimsy it just bends at every stroke. Of course that's when you can get the bolts holding it on to stay tight. The trimmer scissors part is ok as long as you have the upper body strength of a Greek god. If you are looking to trim 1/2 inch sticks it's fine but anything over that and you might as well give up before you start.

Easily fit pole

Seems well-made I guess the job done.

Fits perfectly

Easy to install but a little light weight for heavier pruning. Should work well for my use.

Nice price

This is a nice pruner. It is relatively cheap and easy to put together. I've used it frequently to prune my plum tree. Just what I wanted.

Light duty but works good

I have only cut about 20 branches so far and it works fine. It is lighter duty than the one I replaced. It seems that a branch about 3/4 of an inch would be about the thickest this unit would cut comfortably unless it is really soft new growth. The cord on this is lighter than the one I replaced as well, and already, I see a bit of fraying in the area where the pulleys are located. I can see this cord needing replacement down the road. It is good for the price, as it is not a tool I use everyday.

good value

Had a fiskar pruner for years then the cuter broke , this fit right on the old handle saved me around 50 bucks as compared to buying a new one . Seems to be as sturdy as the fiskas , have already used it and works just as well

Excellent !

Excellent, well priced product for a one-off limb removal rubbing against the house job. Cheaper than available complete kits and certainly cheaper than hiring someone. Even if you have to buy an extension pole, added up still cheaper. I had light weight AL extension pole on hand. I was more worried about getting a squeegee adaptor as they advise. Very hard to find regular retail, seems mainly janitorial online supply cos. Amazon pricing for such a $2.00 dollar item outrageously expensive. Item arrived and very very pleased to find that the sleeve the pole slides into is not solid or complete and soft metal. You could pry it wider to accommodate a wider pole (may need longer bolts to the clamp), or in my case the threaded pole was tapered. I just slid it in, tightened the wing nuts until it gripped as tight as it could. No issues whatsoever doing the job.

So far so good

I think this item is not good product.Why?1. There is some gap between two blades. I tested it on my cedar tree. Some times ... when we prune thick branch will be cut well. However thin branchs or bark can be stuck between the blades or may not be cut.2. The fixed blade surface is so rough. It makes friction between two blades, and require more pullung power and they are easily worn. The result the gap will be wider quickly than eveb surface.3. The cutting blade is round shape. In my experience, this shape blade results to pulling hard branches. If the cutting blade is flat, it will be much better.4. Spring is a little strong ... Sometimes it can be helpful, but if the blade works well, after cutting branches, the blade return its ready position easily. Anyway I think that it need to be redesign the tension of the spring. So ... now I give 3 star. After I am using it, I will give more info or my experience on it.========Update======It works for soft branches and thin branches. It is of course, but it was harder to cut a little harder branches, and the lope was so thin and it is easy took out from the roller. From time to time, we are pulling the string while we prune the branches, then the string give you more pain than thicker one. You need to replace the pulling string for more comfortable use.
