Merck Scalibor Protector Band Flea Collar for Dogs

We have a Siberian Husky and Pomeranian dog who have used this brand for about four years! We live in a wooded area and where deer roam daily. We have had no ticks since these collars. The dogs use to get 3-4 per season. Recently our Poms collar ran out and was overdue for a new collar. We picked up a supposed good brand until we could order scalibor or get to the vet, the other. Rand never worked! Frustrated we called our vet and picked up a new scalibor which is working once again. Our dogs have never had any skin reactions whatsoever!

I have previously used this brand/collar on our 2 golden retrievers. We live in a wooded area, where ticks are highly common. The first year or so using this collar, we had fantastic results. If we even found a tick on our pups, it was already dead. I ordered 2 collars May 22, 2019 and it is now August 21 2019, and we are pulling big FAT ticks off of both boys, AND they have FLEAS! I will NOT be repurchasing. I would expect to see a few ticks closer to the collars expiration ( 6 months), but it seems both of these stopped working after 1 month or so. We did not wash our dogs in the collars, nor have they been in water to reduce effectiveness, either.

Bought the product despite reviews stating it didn't work on fleas. Guess what! It doesn't work on fleas. We live in San Antonio and this season started early and now we're attempting to get rid of our flea problem. The dogs bring them in and infest our cats. I've had to wash all 4 cats, and all 3 dogs because these collars were crap. Our dogs wore the collar for 2 months and it didn't do anything! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

We live in an area of upstate New York that is overrun by deer. Lyme disease is a real and serious threat around here so tick protection for our dog is essential. Scalibor is not the first flea and tick collar we tried but it was the first that didn't irritate our dog.He has been flea and tick free since we started using Scalibor (about 2 years ago) and he never had any skin irritation or the GI issues other collars appeared to cause. We trust Scalibor with our beloved family dog and equally as important, he doesn't mind wearing the collar. Highly recommended.

I treat my dogs with Bravecto every 3 months...a tablet they eat. Even though I just used this they still came in with ticks crawling on their heads....not attached to them, but bringing them in the house! Since I started using the collars along with the medication I have NO TICKS on them!! Great product! Will always use during tick season.

Scalibor works wonderfully for my dog. The only time in eight years I found ticks on her was after walking through beach grass on Martha's Vineyard. And they were only on her toes. She has a long rough overcoat and a short fine undercoat.

We had always used the drops that go on the back of the dogs neck, but lets face it they are not easy to apply and leave a gross greasy spot for days. I was extremely skeptical that these collars would work but for the price I was willing to give it a go. We live right by a park and have a huge tick problem, both dogs, 1 chihuahua and 1 basset mix, have been wearing the collars for over a month and not a single flea or tick. I am stoked, no more gross slimy patched on the dogs neck every month!

We have problems with lots of ticks. Our vet recommended we combine the external repellant to the dogs skin as well as this collar. Since we applied this combo, we have not found 1 tick stuck to the dogs.
