For Christmas, I bought this glove and ball for my 5 year old grandson, along with the wiffle bat and balls. Wiffle Bat,Wiffle 9 inch Baseballs in Counter-top Display - One Dozen.He seemed to be very happy with these....I also have written a review about getting his younger brother the Tee-ball set Little Tikes TotSports T-Ball Set.This child who is currently into dinosaurs was more involved with and interested in the dinosaurs he and his younger brother got Schleich Brachiosaurs 14503,Schleich Brachiosaurs 14503and others...(highly recommended also.) However, he wanted to go outside also and play "baseball" with his dad and brothers in between looking at the other gifts, especially the dinosaurs...I think he'll get a lot of use out of this set. I had purchased a set of a dozen wiffle balls and recently heard his dad already had to buy more...I don't know how long any of these plastic baseball/teeball sets will last, but they were relatively inexpensive, and the kids love to go to the local park and play with these with their dad.As to whether or not this toy is "educational"...I don't think each and every toy has to be. In this case, being outside and playing, using his muscles and developing eye/hand coordination, playing with his dad and brother....you cannot put a price tag on that in my opinion!

What a fun little toy for a little boy/girl. I bought this ball and mitt toy for my 2.5 year old son to work on hand-eye coordination, as well as an addition to his toy collection, since he's been asking about Baseball a lot. When we opened it, he was so excited! The color and fit was wonderful for a toddler, and it still has plenty of room for him to grow into. It's flexible, and comfortable for him to wear, and the ball is nice and soft, so that you may play indoors if you so wish, and not have to worry about breaking anything fragile in the home. The only reason this product didn't get a 5-star rating from me, was because I found that the ball didn't stick to the velcro as well as I'd like it to. If thrown and not squeezed in the mitt when caught, sometimes, the ball wont stick, and will fall right out of the mitt. The more we used it, the stickier it got, so if at first you don't suceed, try and try and try and try again! It will eventually get roughed up enough to become sticky enough for a toddler to be able to catch the ball without much effort!

Bought this for my 3 year old nephew, and it was such a cute and fun set! My 20 month son, ended up really enjoying it, showing it’s great for young toddlers. I was surprised how well the ball stuck to the mitt! It really makes it easy for anyone to catch, the ball sticks instantly once it hits the glove. The toddlers who played with our mitt and glove, were more into the throwing of the ball, but made it such a fun and easy thing to play with. Can be played with indoor or outdoor! Fun purchase for littles!

The glove is fine and the velcro works well for catching the ball, but the ball stiching is coming apart after less than an hour.

My 2.5 year old loves this. I put my baseball glove on, and she thinks it's cool that she has one as well. Bonus for being Chicago Cubs colors. My only complaint is that the glove could use a little more velcro -- or maybe just a huge circular patch of velco as opposed to little strips. Sometimes you hit the mit dead center and it doesn't stick. But she loves picking the ball up and tossing it back just the same.

Great gift for a toddler 1-3 for their 1st baseball glove. Quality is okay but overall good for the price & age range. Very easy to use!

I'm an adult female with average size hands, and my whole hand fits snuggly inside the glove. So, I don't think this glove is only for toddlers as some other reviews suggest. I don't see my 4 1/2 year old son fitting into this in another year or so, but it's perfect for him right now. I would say that it works for ages 2-5 depending on motor skills.The glove is flexible and the velcro hold well, which makes it easier to catch the ball. This has gotten my son more interested in the game and improved his catching skills as he gets more practice.
