Habits: The Mother's Secret to Success

Written in quite confusing manner. I understand it, but takes a while to read just because of how it's written. Great concept though, just wish it was written for simpler minds.

The book is delightful. It’s small and portable, fits in my purse, and I take it with me and read at the park or while waiting in the car. The wisdom in the book is phenomenal. You’ll want to highlight and memorize the high points. Perfect reading for anyone who cares for little ones- even non homeschoolers.

This is an excellent book for someone wanting to read Charlotte Mason's philosophies on habits without actually reading her original books. The language was a little difficult for me, and I had to read the text slowly in order to reflect and figure out how to apply each idea to myself and my children. I read the negative reviews and believe I might also have felt frustrated or disappointed if I was not already familiar with the Charlotte Mason method of education and with some of her philosophy.

As a parent of 4, I needed this refreshing reminder of how habits can literally make or break a family's daily rhythm and impact the peacefulness of the home as well as the intimacy of the parent-child relationship. Great read and not too scholarly to be able to follow along with, as I've found other writings by Mason to be.

Great collection of clips from charlotte mason's writings. But definitely not a complete book! Better to buy the CM collection and get the entire meat of her offerings. This book has the "author's" favorite selections that she had highlighted and put together for herself to remember and have a quick access to. I hadn't known that when I bought it or else I would have put my money towards the real deal (CM's actual collection of books)
