My doctor recommended i take these - and have now for over a year. If you still have heartburn when you take them - you need to increase your dose - I have some other issues - but I take 5 pills with each meal and no more heartburn. SO if 1 or 2 doesn't work feel free to increase the dose until you have no heartburn after eating. Great product. great price

I have been taking HCL for a few years off and on. I especially use it after I eat what I'm not suppose to eat. It has worked so far for me. Of course, you are to be careful with your fat and carb intake. I would highly recommend it if you want to keep your weight intact.

I have been using Prothera Betaine HCL for 3 years, but it was not available the last time I needed to order it, so I tried this. Sadly, even though it is a lower dosage, it gives me stomach aches and burning in my esophogus. I used to take the Prothera at the beginning of my meal and had no problems. I did that with this product and got the burning. Tried it at the end of my meal and still got the same thing, plus a stomach ache. Tried it half-way through my meal and had the same reaction. What gives!?

Not wanting to influence others on how to obtain health, it makes it difficult to write a review. So I heard on the radio during an interview with a Dr. that claimed some "GERDS" are misdiagnosed. What he said made sense to me in my situation so I tried HCl and withheld the proton pump inhibitors that my Provider prescribed. I felt great after about 1 week of using HCl and still do months later. Just my story.
