ThunderShirt for Dogs, Large, Platinum Sport - Dog Anxiety Relief Calming Vest

I didn’t think anything would help our dog make it through thunderstorms. We rescued her almost 5 years ago when she was about 3 1/2, and she is a very anxious Husky/German Shepherd. She has always been so inconsolable during thunderstorms and fireworks that we would have to medicate her. We tried everything from prescribed meds to dog-safe CBD, but we hated all the effects it had on her, and she did too. This Thunder jacket was our last hope, and it works!!It arrived the day before a series of severe storms (thunderstorms, extremely high winds, and hail) hit our area - 3 weeks of storms at about 3 storms per week. This jacket worked the first time we put it on her. She acts as though she feels immobilized because she will just stand until we help her on the couch and help her lay next to one of us. We sit and pat her, and her breathing is more relaxed than it would be during a storm although you can tell she is still scared; however, she isn’t anxiously running around, trying to climb the walls. She isn’t panting like crazy. She will actually lay there and sometimes fall asleep. It’s amazing!The quality is very good. Nicely stitched. Good quality material. It isn’t heavy or hot. It’s super easy to put on. You can easily adjust how tight it is around their body and chest to make it comfortable and soothing at their preferred level. Easily washable. I 100% recommend this to calm an anxious dog.

My only regret is not trying this years ago. My pup has been afraid of thunder and fireworks since she was a puppy. Terrified actually. She won’t rest, paces, and tries to climb up and into everything to try to get away from the noise. I tried it for the first time on July 4th somewhat skeptically, but it worked! She wasn’t completely fear free, but she was able to settle down and rest for the first time ever. She’s also been able to use it during a thunderstorm with the same result. It’s well made and the fit was perfect. It was also easy to put on her. I can see that it’s possible it won’t work with every dog- but it’s worth a try! I’m so glad I did!!!

First, it is good quality and yes, if your pup is right on the border for size, go smaller. My dog is a 6 year old, 24lb schnoodle (schnauzer poodle mix) bestest boy…and has a funny shaped body—deep girth in the chest, skinny end, longer than usual body. But it was still a little big on him even though I went down a size. It strapped right above his genital but it took serious adjusting to get it there so he didn’t urinate on it.Last year he started having fear of fireworks (shaking, can’t be held, running in panic) it’s horrible. We live in Utah and with the 4th, July 24th state holiday (huge celebration), plus each individual city celebration days, all up and down Utah all summer long, they all end in fireworks, which means everyone else lights fireworks. So it’s pretty much fireworks for the whole month of July and some weekends the other months. We tried all the recommended drugs (trazadone, Sileo, Acepromazine, generic prozac, etc), even combined, and nothing touches him. So we decided to add this thundershirt in with meds because we’re desperate. I tried it out when locals that were further away were lighting fireworks a few days before the big ones got going. While he didn’t react, I can’t honestly say if it worked because they were the first of the season so he may not have even noticed given they were far away. But after that night, even with shirt and drugs, he freaked out the whole time just like before. So, this one is on us, but I was so hopeful given so many others that said it worked for theirs! Hope it works for you!

My vet recommended this thunder shirt for our nervous rescue dog. She does not like loud noises or people who are loud. We have lots of parties by pool, so she would hid under bed if she got inside house. Put thunder shirt on when we had company last week. She sat right near our guests. They couldn’t tell how much more relaxed she was, but wee could. This has made her life instantly better. I heard that it doesn’t work for every dog, but definitely worth a try.

Seven months ago I adopted a 4yo mixed Shepherd from down south. She's extremely sweet, perfect fit for us, great w/ my grands. In the beginning she was quite anxious, separation more so. Being our first 4th of July, I ordered this, praying it would help keep her in a peaceful state during all the firework noise. I also ordered an organic stress reliever, liquid form for faster absorption. Used these products together the past 2 nights, I am amazed by how well they worked for her. DEFINITELY worth the investment, wish I had thought of these sooner as she gets severe anxiety attacks during thunder storms. She loves wearing her new snuggle vest 💜

Our sweet girl, Suki, suffers from severe anxiety to fireworks, thunder, even the threat of thunder. She shakes uncontrollably, pants, tongue out and I'm sure if she could sweat, she would. Clearly she is distressed. We've tried a few methods to calm her down, including medication, during these episodes and nothing has worked. So, I went into this purchase with very low expectations and was prepared to chalk what I thought would be an ineffective product up to a waste of money. When July 4th rolled around this year, I was amazed at how the Thundershirt instantly calmed Suki. Zero signs of distress, just a calm, relaxed little girl. This was worth every single penny. I know this product hasn't worked for some dogs unfortunately, but it truly did wonders for mine. Definitely worth a try.

Our dog hates thunder and lightening, was shaking and panting during storms. Now when we put on the vest during/before a storm, she calms down considerably. No panting or shaking. I was skeptical, but this does work!
