Great item for this series!
This is a fun game with lots of player interaction. My game group took to it at once and made it a staple. This is a GOTCHA game, where you try to make the others pass out, run out of money or otherwise lose the game. The rules are not difficult and there is a huge following to answer questions, run demos and/or hold tournaments. The games. 1 thru 7, come with a drink deck, 4 characters, rules, tokens and whatever special items are needed to play the game. Each game has different characters and drink decks.Characters have special cards to give them identities and play differently due ti this.Drink decks are 30 cards of drinks that vary from box to box and have promo cards available. This game has all of the standard items in a game.Additionally. this game has special cards for all the existing characters at the time of issue.Newer games will follow the new format for these cards making a seamless game. This is the "big box", designed to hold everything that is out and much of what is coming.A good starting point, if you know you will like the game, or a must have if you are playing the game.

Very fun and a great addition to the standard game!
I was looking for a new game to play with friends and family over the holidays and I came up with the first edition of Red Dragon Inn as my choice. It's now mid-January and I own all 3 versions! The game is very fun, pretty easy to learn and more durable than a lot of other card-based games I've played. This edition brings 4 new characters to play but each are quite different than in versions 1 and 2. 3 of the characters have a second deck added to the mix to add a new level of play for them. For example, the fairy character has a wolf deck that you flip each turn that shows the current mood of the wolf. Based on his mood, your game play can change in the form of bonuses or negatives - so each round has another random level of game play that can be humorous and interesting.I've seen comments on the game's forums where people thought this made these characters too powerful, but I disagree (so does the game creator, who commented back about the lengths they went through to game play these characters and the design works as equals to the others).I've played these games with 2 people and as many as 6 so far - and in all situations it played very well. I recommend this game to anyone, really, and if your kid can read and play other "regular" card games, they should have the capability to play along with you as well. This summer I plan on taking the full set on vacation with me and designing "drinking game" rules around it to see how that goes. I can't imagine that wouldn't go well, though. :)-Drake

Great game, apply to real life
The goal of the game is to get your fellow players to pass out so you can steal your purse. My gaming group plays it in real life. If your character takes a shot you take a shot. The lightweights use beer, the tougher ones use hard liquor, and those abstaining use pop. I recommend making it the last game of tge night and planning to sleep ot off where you are.

Great Addition for RDI
We love RDI! If you love games this should be on your list to play. The rules are easy to understand, especially once you play a round or two. The Gambling and Drink Events can get a little tricky but still easy to grasp. This box adds 4 more characters and some new drinks to the Drink Deck.We ended up getting the storage box from Slugfest Games after getting this set.If you’re looking for a really fun character - get the Pookie deck.

Too FUN!!!!
We haven't played board games for over 20 years. This board game has us laughing and having fun again in the winter. I have ADHD so it takes me a bit to re read all my cards but it's worth it.

Great addition to the series
The box is huge, but it's not quite big enough! The one disappointment that I have with this product is that they included character-specific boards and I guess by doing so they tried to obsolete the older big brown boards that you get 4 of in each of the main game packs (RDI 1-4). However, we much prefer those boards, so we don't want to get rid of them... however, they don't easily fit in this box! That's disappointing for something that is supposed to be the "end-all" storage solution for this series.Other than that, this is great. The characters are all fun and each have their own unique characteristics. Lizwick has a separate item deck that she can draw from to get (mostly) beneficial cards. This is balanced by the fact that all other players see what kind of benefits she is getting from the items, so they can plan accordingly. Sera is like a ninja - she dodges a lot and can hit you with a lot of quick, small attacks; including some action cards that can't be negated and others that allow her to play another action card on the same turn (although most of these are for just 1 fortitude loss, so it takes time for their effects to add up). Joran the "trickster" has a lot of "gotcha" cards to try to mess with other players - spiking their drinks, re-directing damage, cheating for gambling, etc. And then Zakhan introduces his own unique mechanic where he can choose to gain "drunken chi" that will allow him to deal more damage later, but it also puts him at risk of being knocked out sooner.Sera is a little boring to play as, but I find the other 3 pretty entertaining. Joran is probably one of my top 5 favorites overall in the whole series (Dimli, Phrenk, Serena, Halden, Joran, not necessarily in that order) and then both Lizwick and Zakhan are fun as well. Definitely a worthwhile addition!
