Not good value, Dab stations very difficult to find , I thought it was faulty at first, cd and f.m. radio works ok, but sound could be better. not a good buy for me. people should be made aware it is very poor before they buy. you have been warned. I NOW HAVE IT WORKING PROPERLY AND AMEND MY VIEWS IT WORKS OK FOR ME AND NOW GIVE IT A 4. IT IS DIFFICULT TO SET UP I PUT ADDITIONAL INSULATION AROUND THE ARIAL WIRE. WHEN I FIRST SWITCHED IT ON WITH THE MAINS POWER IT WAS IN A DEAD SPOT IN THE HOUSE TRY IT WITH BATTERIES AND MOVE IT TO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS.

I was looking for a simple easy to use DAB radio / CD-Player for my 90 year old mother - this is not it. Might be suitable for a teenager, but the controls are two complex and the LCD screen almost illegible even for someone my age. Had to return this as not fit for purpose. Bought a very nice and simple DAB radio from Majority that was simple and stylish instead.

This was totally impossible to set up. The instructions was next to useless. Had to take it back to Factory settings as it would not do the DAB digital radio scan and only then when I put batteries in it, having originally plugged it into the mains. Thereafter it would not work on the mains, only on batteries and then refused to do anything other than operate the CD player, but only if it felt like it, which was hardly ever!!!! It was a complete waste of money and I have had to buy a different and cheaper product instead to replace it. We have digital radios elsewhere in the house so I know it was not a DAB digital radio signal problem, it was just a useless product. Shame on Roberts - I had a Roberts radio for decades so thought it would be a safe brand, how wrong was I.

First off, the sound quality of this CD/radio is as good as can be expected at this price point. I don’t have any issues with the sound :)What I think is silly is how the controls are laid out.Many of you will be used to CD/Radio players, and will be used to controls on the front for Play/pause/fast forward-skip/rewind AND stop.This unit does not have a stop button for the CD player on the unit itself!Similarly, many people will be used to seeing an Off/Radio/CD selector on a CD/Radio player. This unit DOESN’T have that. There is no OFF switch on the front, only a standby switch.So, if you want to stop playing a CD, there is no off switch on the CD player, and you would need to put the unit into standby to stop the disc from spinning. opening the top hatch will stop the disc, but ai am just talking about stopping playing music. you could of course select radio, but then the radio would be playing!Once you have put the unit into standby it is obviously still drawing power, something not very clever with the hike in energy prices.To actually turn the unit fully off you would need to unplug it/switch it off at the plug, or in the case of battery power turn the unit off via a little switch at THE BACK of the CD player.The remote control does have a stop button for the CD player, but again can only put the CD/Radio. player into standby.I have never owned a CD/Radio before that had no ‘stop’ button, and no easily accessed switch or button to turn the unit off.I am going to return this unit to Amazon as the design it just very poor.
