These springs work as they should, I just needed something a little stronger. Make sure you get the correct strength depending on the size and weight you'll need.

These do not spring closed, they spring open.
It’s the weirdest thing! I’ve never spring hinges spring open, only closed, until I bought these strange hinges. Unless you want your thing permanently open, do not get these.

Self opening not self closing!!!
Lesson learned, always read the reviews which I usually do but oh well. These are the opposite of self closing, they are self opening!!!
