Very useful device at affordable price
I love it overall, also the app is nice. The most useful is that it produces a pdf report of the capture.

Nice unit for home use
My two sons, age 7 & 8, are rarely aware of how loud they are at times. Part of this is just that they're boys, part of it is they are somewhat neurodivergent and aren't always aware of themselves. Most of the time it's fine, in public they've been learning to control themselves. However, car trips can be painful so I've been searching for a way to "gamify" their volume in the car. This is the perfect solution because they're both into technology and tools.I've already explained to them what this is, how it works, what decibels mean, and where permanent hearing damage can occur. They were very into the concept and how their voices could be measured for loudness. We agreed to set the alarm on the app at 85 db and that if they make it through a car trip without setting off the alarm they get a prize.First trip out worked perfectly! They managed to stay under 85 db and won their prize! The unit itself seems well-made. I can only judge the accuracy anecdotally, but it seems about right. My noisy refrigerator runs about 58 db. Very quiet conversations run about 60 db. I don't think this is a professional grade unit but, for what I'm trying to do it's a nice little unit at a nice price.

Skipping several seconds
I use this meter to record noise from neighbors at night that exceed the city ordinance and disrupts my sleep. After using it for about 2 weeks I’m finding it’s starting to skip several seconds at a time .. literally 2-10 seconds between each reading .. so stomping and banging happens and when I go check the data on my phone from the meter… there are huge gaps in the information .. and most often the moment I needed metered was not recorded in the data. Even at best one of the two meters I bought (both are this red meter) has started recording every 2 seconds consistently.. I’ve changed the batteries, turned it off and on, disconnect and reconnect to the phone.. after a minute or so it’s back to only recording every 2 seconds.. i don’t see any option to contact the seller for support thusly I’ll share my experience with the public. Otherwise having calibrated it I can say it is accurate.. but connecting your phone and recording for a period of time then it goes skitz..

Very handy tool for the trade
I've been in need of a decibel meter for HVAC and general apartment maintenance. This little gadget has worked great so far. I've mostly used to keep track of comfort sound levels of furnaces, portable window units and appliances like dishwashers. It is VERY sensitive at a close distance. I'm hoping to be able to use it in a few other job settings over the next few months. I've yet to tinker with the Bluetooth setting as I do not need it and it is unnecessary hassle at the moment. Fingers crossed it will last a few years or more.

Great home use decibel meter, or limited professional use
I compared to my much more expensive work decibel meter and then one was good... Not perfect, not on the professional level... but costs 1/4 as muchPros:Fairly accurateFast and slow modes ( basically the speed at which the sample is taken)Bluetooth connected to my phones no problem ( using their app)Easy to useComes with required batteriesCons:Not as accurate as my work unit.Packing was slightly damaged, so only cosmetic "damage" to the microphone poof.Overall great decibel meter for diy or limited professional usage. Thanks,Brocktech

Works well, Blue tooth with app for logging
The media could not be loaded. Nice little meter - measures dBa which is different than just dB.A-weighted decibel (dBA or dB(A)) is an expression of the relative loudness of sounds as perceived by the human ear. this means that very low or high frequencies are not weighted as much as midlevel sounds. good for measuring levels for protection but not as good for measuring absolute 'loudness'.the device has 4 modes, fast and slow, min and max, which is great.the app is actually pretty good, no location requirements, finds the BT without having to pair.nothing I can find that's an issue for me
