RobertsRAMBLER MINI FM, DAB, DAB+ Digital Radio with Bluetooth & Built-In Rechargeable Battery - Pastel Cream

I have found Roberts radios to be good quality ones. It has lots of features once you can navigate them. Has a built in rechargeable radio, which once charged lasts a long time as I like to take it outside in the garden or the garage. You can check how much is left is in the battery and how strong the DAB signal is.

I appreciate Hi-Fi and know the difference between good quality sound, and bad. Regrettably in the UK, DAB is using restricted bitrates so will never sound Very good. I have however listened to various DAB radios and I chose this Rambler mini. I really wanted to buy the larger Rambler, mono with the C-Batteries. Unfortunately my listening test in a department store showed 'flat' audio that was boring? This echoes many other reviews of the larger Rambler on here. However, the Rambler Mini sounds ok. It's a smaller radio but accepting it for what it is, I think the sound is quite pleasant to listen to and especially so with voice (BBC Radio 4). It's plastic but in the cream colour looks quite ok and I am happy with this purchase. Be aware that there is no indication when being charged when the raio is off (ie: no LED). To see the battery level you have to push the display button about 6 times. It's a cheaper DAB radio and 'm happy.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve always loved radio, and Roberts in particular. This Rambler mini looks very nice - it’s 100% plastic but feels well made and looks nicer in the flesh than on photos imho. Has a good user interface and the nice clicky on/off switch and rotating knob for volume is great (lots of radios have up and down buttons for vol - having the knob is much better). Wish it had some dedicated presets buttons, but oh well 🤷‍♂️Sound quality is the most important consideration, right? This captures that warm, slightly soft Roberts vintage tone really well: it’s really great for speech radio. It struggles a little with music but it’s not bad and sounds better than many other similarly sized radios (see my photo: the Rambler Mini is the second best sounding of all those radios apart from the Roberts Petite). It somewhat lacks bottom end (and the treble is a little ‘soft’) but it’s fine if you bung it in a corner as a kitchen or bathroom radio. I did have the Roberts Rambler BT (slightly bigger than the mini, with the real wood end panels) and the mini absolutely sounds better than it’s bigger brother (I returned the Rambler BT as it just sounded awful for its £100 price tag, despite looking gorgeous): my advice 100% buy the rambler mini and NOT the rambler BT. Also the Mini has a built in battery with a usb C port whilst the BT requires 4 C cell batteries to be portable… C-cell batteries, wtf, Roberts!? 🤷‍♂️).The absolute best sounding small radio in this category/price range is the Roberts Petite, aided by its passive bass radiator… for around twenny quid more I’d say go for the Petite as it sounds fantastic for speech and music, but this Mini has a more classic look, does sound decent and has a somewhat more immediate/intuitive user interface than the Petite.The Mini is a nice, stylish and cute little radio with usb C charging of its in-built battery (so no buggering about with AA or, far worse, C-cell batteries), you just need accept that it only sounds ‘decent’ and don’t expect it to blow your socks off sonically.

I want easy access to DAB radio stations that I had before. I am finding it hard to use the preset buttons and find stations

Good volume and tone with DAB, FM and Bluetooth capability. Easy to use with an internal rechargeable battery. Highly recommend

This is a great radio with good sound, I was wary about buying it because it was plastic however the quality is much better than it looks in the pictures and it has a premium feel to it. The sound is excellent when used as a radio and reception is clear even though we live in an area with not great reception. I have not decided to use as a Bluetooth speaker as the sound quality is not as good for this compared to other speakers I have but then this is primarily a radio. I like the fact that the volume control is rotary and the battery life seems to be as quoted approx 8 - 10 hours. The touch and feel of the buttons just feels like quality. The sound quality is very mediocre compared to my Anker bluetooth speaker at half the price. But most disappointingly, the tuner is dreadful. Right outside of London, and I only get about 2-3 FM stations and 2 DAB ones. If my partner hadn't thrown away the box I would have sent it back. Not worth the money.
