The moment I saw it, held it, I was love in with it.This glass butter dish is a thing of beauty and at an amazing price, and made in Britain I believe.Simply outstanding.

Seems like an outdated thing to have (once common everywhere) but if you ever see a few bottles of thick cream on the reduced shelf at your local supermarket you will soo understand how with a bit of cheesecloth (or a clean plastic mesh fruit bag) & a table top mixer plus plenty of tough containers you can get the cream & the buttermilk separated, squeeze out the worst of the excess under cold water, & chill it all before taking your pats out to get rid of the excess without using hands (HEAT, lots of it) to shape & form butter ready to freeze for later / chill & consume.As we are in the uk, "slightly salted butter" is normal here, so don't forget to look up what is needed per block to blend & shape.I held off buying a set until the price came down, even in my local "the range" which tends to stock kilner products this was about £12-14 (HA) but hit buy when these simple bits of wood churned out on the cheap hit £7 ..you still have to put the effort in but it is another skill to learn in the kitchen & butter is not cheap these days.(NB, these were sold in a pair by kilner, but if you look on ali express etc, then expect to be sold them as singles & considerably more expensive)The other use? making your own gnocchi for the gently applied markings to the portioned & cut potato, egg & flour mix for that professional touch.

Nice and durable, goes perfectly with all my other kilner bits n bobs. Fits a block of butter no problem with a bit of room either side 👍🏼

Well pleased. fantastic and just the right size

Works well - easy to use & had butter separate from the buttermilk in about 8 minutes rinsed in 3 & patted out in about the same & the whole process was done in about 15 minutes - easy to clean up the churner after & the butter is the best I have ever had - I was chuffed with the results & found it an enjoyable thing to do - use it regularly now - recommend.

Great dish but sadly turned up chipped. This is because of the packaging, I don’t know whose responsibility this is but I can’t use it. Will have to buy one locally instead.
