Katy Perry: Part Of Me [DVD]

I have followed Katy since her first single (I Kissed A Girl- 2008) hit the airwaves. To say there have been ups and downs in her life would be a massive understatement on my part but "Part Of Me- The Movie" gives anyone who watches it a very real sense of what life on the road does to someone. Whilst I watched it because I think Katy Perry is THE star of this generation, Katy shows just why she is that star with this movie.On February 20th 2011 she undertook an almost one year long World Tour, the California Dreams Tour, which took her to all corners of the World and ending on January 22nd 2012. A short four months, October 23rd 2010, prior to embarking on this humongous undertaking Katy got married to British comedian Russell Brand. As the Tour began Katy was determined to do her best to keep the marriage as her top priority by taking any opportunity, every three weeks or so, to fly back to America to be with Russell. Before the end of the Tour the pair had separated with Russell stating that he could no longer cope with the fact they were apart for so much time. This devastated Katy to the point where she almost cancelled the biggest ever gig of her life to date, Sao Paolo, Brasil, September 25 2011- over 25,000 crowd (which was surpassed by her gig in London's O2 Arena less than a month later, October 15 2011- over 31,700 fans attended) but she bravely stifled her sadness to perform all her hits again. Katy and Russell divorced a few moths after the Tour ended. She carried on to finish the Tour, where over one million people saw her perform live whilst taking over $52 million in box Office and merchandising proceeds. All in all an astounding piece of music history performed by an outstanding star, the star that is Katy Perry.

I am a huge fan of Katy Perry & I even went to see this in the cinema with my friend & enjoyed it that much I had to buy it.The film itself just follows Katy on her biggest tour yet consisting of 126 shows (You don't see every show) It's fantastic to see an incite into a celebrates life on tour especially one of the biggest pop stars in the world. This film had me laughing & then crying my eyes out! It's fantastic & I don't want to give the whole film away to you all but, I would completely recommend watching this if your a Katy Perry lover.

i give this ble-ray film 5 stars as it not only fillows katys teenage dreem tour but shows the background from where katy started. the film has consett footage and shows katys famaly. katy shows the good and the bad parts where her split from her marrage upset her, this i think just shows just what a trough star katy is. the film is very good and something you will want to see again. katy perry is one of a kind star. i would recomend this film to everbody

I loved this documentary-movie from start to finish. It really shows the true Katy Perry - a down to earth, amazing and inspiring woman. Even if you aren't a fan, it gives you an incredible insight about her family and her life. My only criticism is the performances are a bit short - but you are treated to performances of 'Firework', 'California Gurls', 'I Kissed A Girl', 'Hot n Cold' and 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)'. I'd recommend this to anyone. And the digital version was an amazing bonus.

It was really sad watching her go through what can only be described, as severe depression when Russel and her ended. The fact that she was literally crying seconds before going on stage and plastered a smile on her shows what a true professional she really is. I saw her live in concert last year and she was unbelievable. She puts on a great show and shows off her musical ability too. I like her a lot!

I have been a fan of Katy Perry musics and loved her new album so my daughter brought me this for Christmas. I really enjoyed this DVD and it really shows that Katy Perry adores her fans and goes the extra mile to say thank you to them. This DVD is also sad with her strict up bringing and her marriage to Russel Brand. It shows her highs and low and the people she cares about and the people who love her.

It's Okay but could have been much better. Don't bother with the Blu-Ray go for the cheaper DVD option. The Blu-Ray has very few extras, it would have been better to include the music videos from the album as bonus features sadly they are not. Plus much of the footage is from old video of Katy growing up and also behind the scenes much of which is standard definition and as such it is not worth paying the extra for Blu Ray.

Way better then Micheal Jacksons this is it .It was light hearted,funny in moments and was very entertaining .Includes interviews with the family,her nan ,Adele,Jessie J and you get to see teenage Katy before "one of the Boys".Overall I'd recommend to any Katy Perry Fan as it gives you an insight into her struggles with Island and her glory with Teenage Dream .Cant wait for her next album!

I kind of wish I didn't see this. Before I did I was completely indifferent to Katy Perry. I didn't like her or hate her. I just didn't care either way. Then one day I sat down and watched this after hearing some rave reviews about it from critics and I fell in love with her. After watching this I discovered things about this Katy Perry character I didn't know anything about. She was likable and nice. There wasn't a diva bone in her body. I sort of equate female pop stars to being a little full of themselves as if they're curing cancer or something. I realized that Katy Perry is a hardworking girl who loves to entertain, sing and play the guitar. There was some poignant moving moments in this as she allows the cameras to continue filming even when she's visibly heartbroken over the problems with her relationship at the time with Russell Brand. I also didn't know that she writes her own lyrics and that they are from her personal experiences. That made me like her even more that she allows herself to be cracked open in her work. I learned that she didn't have it all handed to her and had to fight to create a career. Sure this is a little cotton candy and bubble gum-ish, but its done so well that you find yourself being uplifted. I'm embarrassed to say that I loved this and became a fan of Katy Perry by the end of this. But hey if she can be that cracked open in her lyrics, I think I can be just as cracked open to admit that I like Katy Perry! Ended up buying this DVD after watching it and of course then ended up buying two of her CD's since I didn't own anything Katy Perry related. "Teenage Dream" and "Prism". It's a good thing she made this movie, otherwise I probably never would've given her a chance. I'm not particularly a big pop music fan, but it seems like she's one of the better ones out there.

Ich habe mir die Film-Biografie mit dem Ziel geholt etwas mehr über Katy Perry zu erfahren und Aufnahmen und Eindrücke von ihr zu sehen, die außerhalb der Bühne statt finden.Ich wurde kein bißchen enttäuscht.Im Gegensatz zu vielen Mainstream-Pop-Sängern/Sängerinnen kommt Katy Perry mir gegenüber extrem sympathisch rüber.Freunde und sie selbst erzählen von ihr, wie sie in die Musik-Branche kam und würde ich ihre Musik nicht bereits hören, hätte ich danach mehr als genug Motivation gehabt es zu tun.Die Biografie hat mich zu einem gnadenlosen Fan werden lassen. Ich kann den Film nur weiter empfehlen. Er hat Momente, da kamen selbst mir die Tränen, wo ich doch vor Jahren das letzte Mal wirklich geweint habe.Wer Katy Perry als Mainstream-Pop Tante, die aus gutem Haus stammt und sich hochgeschlafen hat, sieht, sollte sich den Film als Gegenmittel verschreiben.

Muy buena producción, tanto visual como de sonido. Esto es un gran producto, además imprescindible para fans de Katy. Un 10!
