Fun project. Mine doesn't play smoothly, I probably made the gears too tight. Still looks good on a shelf. Pay close attention to the metal rods, I used the wrong length during one step and was pretty far along before I realized the mistake. The instructions do a good job of giving tips on some of the trickier parts. Be delicate with the double-sided tape, try not to touch and get it stuck to your finger, it'll just curl up into a mess. I really enjoyed the quality and how the tools are included, just a nice self-contained project.

Extremely well made! They should get 10 stars. A number of extra parts in case you break one of the fragile ones. I needed them for the cello body. Very fragile and break easy.BUT a good idea I'd forgotten about. Woodworkers steam wood to make it easier to bend without breaking. I have a humidifier putting out a lot of mist. Held the body side in the mist for a few moments. Made it very easy to bend without breaking.Did have a bit of trouble with gears binding, but this was the first model from them and it was not there fault. Was so impressed with the quality and very clear instructions.

This was my first rokr puzzle kit and it is incredibly intricate and requires a lot of patience. I really appreciated the detailed instructions and how they put exclamation points where the pieces are the most fragile and yes I did break a couple of pieces but there were extras. They also tell you exactly where to wax the gears which is appreciated but given the size of the stick of wax it's a bit difficult to get into the crevices of the gears if you're like me and concerned if you've used enough. I recommend using a small birthday candle or something along those lines because it'll fit easier. I didn't have any issues with the bow it moved as intended when i tested it out before I assembled the base. Overall I would most certainly buy another cello kit or even the piano kit as my next rokr adventure.

I bought this as a gift for my 16yr old daughter who loves music (especially string instruments) and putting together advanced lego sets. She loved this! The finished product looks great and detailed, and it doesn't look like flimsy junk. From what I observed is that as she was putting it together, there are several tiny pieces and tools, so you need to be patient and careful. I remember looking at the instructions, and at first quick glance, they looked complicated to me.... but she completed it in afew hours without any struggles or complaints. (Not sure if I would have!). The finished product is a great piece, and I didn't realize it was actually a working wind-up music piece as well. However, it is not a toy, and would not recommend this for much younger children.I do plan on buying a few more of these in the future as gifts though.

This was very hard to assemble and the directions are a bit confusing. I had to watch videos on YouTube of other people assembling it to make sure I was doing it correctly. It does play at the end. I was so surprised I actually took a video just in case it crapped out at a later date.

These puzzles/music boxes are so cool.Very durable even with such small pieces.

The media could not be loaded. We got this as a birthday present for someone and we put it together for them, it turned out really awesome. Check the gears frequently and don't be afraid to use a lot of the wax.

The media could not be loaded. I would tell someone - go slow (it’s not a race), test every time you put a new gear on. Use more wax then you think you should to keep the gears smooth. Pay attention to the directions ( I had to take the base book apart and turn it around cause I didn’t notice the holes didn’t line up with the very bottom), frustrating. Keep opps gel prescience glue on hand things will break that do not have duplicate pieces for. Excellent gift idea would recommend to anyone. Obviously it took longer for me to assemble because I painted and stained parts as I went. But that is me- you do you make it a memory you cherish each time you see it.
