all good. can be shortened if needed. You do need a pole to pull it down, but so what? Much easier than dragging a set of steps upstairs each time you want to go in the loft. Very sturdy. I suggest the other person reduces the length of the ladder by unbolting one set of treads, then the ladder extends more and the treads become in a flat position, or leave it as it is and wear shoes to combat the discomfort on his feet😀

Not east to open and close once installed.
The plastic handle sent with it was useless. It broke the third time we used it! So had to look for and buy another handle to enable opening and closing this ladder.

Great Loft Ladder
Don't listen to the other re-viewer, this loft ladder doesn't even come with a loft pole, so what they are on about I have no idea. I had it installed and fully working in just a few hours and I am no DIY expert. Great item.

Easy to do without fuss
great ladder and the easy to follow instructions made it hassle free. It does weigh a little bit when first inserting it into the attic space, but is very easy to pull down when it is installed.

Ladder
I cannot this product for its robustness and quality, the design needs to be looked at as the 2 prongs that seem to only be for the travel lock are quite dangerous. I managed to catch my finger on one and broke it.
