I gave this a 5 star rating because it is a decent controller for the price. I've been using one for 2 years at 25 amps. It is a PWM more than MPPT. Proof is the output amperage does not exceed the input amperage. Real MPPT takes higher panel voltage in and converts it to higher amperage out to the batteries. Knowing this, there is no advantage to running the input panel voltage much above pack finish voltage unless you have a lot of line loss like too small a cable. Best performance comes if the panel voltage is just a little above the battery pack finish voltage and use this controller as a voltage regulator. Use 6 gauge cable minimum to reduce line loss. When setup correctly it makes a decent little inexpensive solar charge controller.

I didn't hook this item up before the return expired but once hooking it up it did nothing on the screen other than light up. I followed the directions made sure battery was hooked up first and the screen was completely blank after hooking up solar panels and it was still blank. No wonder this thing was so cheap there's probably nothing in it.

Really easy to install and works well.

Build quality is decent for its size, easy to install when you know what you are doing. just make sure you have all the components needed to fully install your solar system. pretty decent value for money. works as i expected.

I bought one of these charge controllers for my 2000 watt solar array. I assumed it wouldn't be a true MPPT charge controller and I'm not sure it is. I have ten two hundred watt 24 volt panels and I had to wire them in parallel. I was worried about burning up wires and other equipment but did not burn anything. This controller has been able to handle the amount of power coming off of my panels. I am by no means an expert in anything electrical or solar but this charge controller has by far exceeded my expectations. I have been able to cook with a toaster oven and my batteries are usually full by 0930 on a sunny day.

If your battery runs low it shuts off and will not charge the battery. Must reset it using 12 v charger

The media could not be loaded. Took me weeks and lots of videos to get my panels to work but you definitely need thick wire at least 12 g before it would read my panels and have to hold reset button until you can set battery parameters drove me crazy but so far got it working I was new at this everything on multimeter said current but charger said no amps so for newbies try a thicker wire and save your self the headache and controller instantly worked

Worst product I ever had. It can't handle regulate high amps. No matter what don't buy this product.
