Awesome Buy!
This was a great find. I was skeptical because it was cheap but it's definitely not cheaply made. It has a good weight to it. Comes with the a/C plug. It has a place where you can hang it. Works great. No loss of speed. It also has lightning protection. It's a Great buy!!! Very happy! It works way better than the brand name I had for way less cost. This was worth way more! Would definitely recommend and definitely buy again!

Excellent support, great value, simple switch
I will update should I need to. The switches came fast, very quick shipping. They arrive in simple packages in perfect shape, which was nice. They include the power supply. Very easy to setup, they arrive with DHCP enabled so a quick advanced ip scan and they were easy to find. Once configured I noticed firmware was different and reached out to their support. They were fantastic, worked with me to identify what was needed and sent the firmware and instruction to apply in sequence. I tested port shutdowns, very simple. Although they aren't overly advanced they are perfect for a simple managed Switch. You have the option of cloud or local manage on 16 port and 8 port versions and the value is amazing.

Great value but be sure what you are getting into.
I bought this and after a bit of struggle have successfully set it up. Note that purely on price there is no way you can get anything comparable. But the instructions are a bit unclear. The app works but takes a bit of time for the device to be available on the cloud. Initially it kept saying device offline. Best way is to download their windows app (not mentioned anywhere). Find the IP of the switch by going to the router and then logging on to it via the browser. Then the device worked on the app. So if f these steps are unfamiliar I would suggest don’t buy the switch for managed capabilities. Unmanaged I suppose it would still be fine. But I don’t know. Did not test.

Works
Plug and play. Just works. Extends my wired network with this and added more ports.

Cheap switch for simple VLANs. Firmware update files available by email.
I have several of the 5 and 8 port versions of these switches. Also have GOALAKE branded ones that are identical except for the faceplate. Some came with firmware version 6.0.240427. This version has cloud management always on and will constantly phone home.Ones with newer firmware version 6.0.240816 have a toggle on the login page that will disable cloud management. It stops the constant 5 second requests to the cloud server. If you send an email to afterservice at sscee.net (printed on the label on the bottom of the switch) they will send you firmware version 6.0.240817. Filename GS108-240817(Patch6).bin for the 8 port switch. They recommend a factory reset after updating the firmware. System Management\Manage Configuration\ResetAll the 5 port switches I have already had 6.0.240817. The GOALAKE 8 port came with 6.0.240427. The STEAMEMO 8 port came with 6.0.240816. I have update all my 8 port switches to 6.0.240817.EDIT:Also, the RESET on the login page is a true reset. It will remove the existing password if you forgot it. You need the ID from the label on the bottom. It is the really long alphanumeric number. It says digits, but it is alphanumeric. The reset from within the configuration menu will not reset the password.Note:When upgrading firmware. The file selection defaults to displaying only files with no extension. Change it to show All Files to select the .bin firmware file.Note 2:With 802.1Q VLAN you must have at least 1 trunk port. It will not let you create a VLAN without one.Trunk port is also a management port. If you loose connection to the web interface plug into the trunk port.Trunk port is for all VLANs, you can't select specific VLAN per trunk.

Easy to use, easy to set up, and packs a huge amount of usability in a small and affordable package
I wanted to leave a review for this item mainly due to the fact that i had been looking for a networking solution for my household for some time and had been unable to find one that would adequately satisfy what i needed until i found this item.To say that i am happy with the purchase (at $15.99 i wasnt actually expecting much more than a low end item, which was fine since im on a budget at the moment) would be a huge understatement, This thing is amazing, after connecting it to my router via an ethernet cable the rest was history. not only was the "Gigabit Managed Switch easy on the pocketbook it also wen well above and beyond what i thought was going to be low end piece of electronics, This switch not only handles all of my home networking needs but itsd also easy to control and adjust through its IP based user interface as well as an easy to use app for my phone.Ive added a few pictures but the important one is the screenshot of the speed test that i took after connecting everything, i have 1G internet, while connecting through wifi it usually stayed at about half of what the speed test shown which isn't bad but this is much better.Okay now that all of that is said, i would just like to end with the fact that i highly recommend this item to anyone who needs an easy-to-use and setup network managed switch for there home (or anywhere i imagine), Not only was it affordable but it got to me quickly and it fitsd all my needs. Thanks!!!
