My kids love playing checkers and chess, but most inexpensive sets are easily destroyed or the pieces get lost. This one is great because all of the pieces fit inside nicely and the board is made of wood. As another reviewer noted, it's pretty light wood, but it's durable enough as long as you treat it well.In addition, the puck slinging game is a blast. It's simply enough that my 4 year old can play it but fun for all involved. You basically just use an elastic cord to fling pucks through a narrow opening onto the opponent's side of the board. You can also tweak it with some house rules to make it more or less challenging depending on the ages of the players. In short, this game set is a great deal and loads of fun.

I am an Amazon Vine member yyaaaaa. There are many game options such as hockey, checkers, and chess. I bet it could be modified to play backgammon also. They hockey game uses a rubber string attached at the ends and you shoot 1.5 inch disks through a slot in the middle of the case. Those disks can also be used for checkers. The chess pieces are made of wood with the tallest at 2.25 inch and the pawns just over 1 inch. The wood case measures 11.5 inches b 11.5 inches folded with brass screwed in hinges and closing clasp. The wood looks like pine but feels a bit sturdier. Keep the pieces in the bags or everything back in the box or the pieces might fall out through the slots used for hockey. I think this a good value item, loads of fun and should last a while too.

I love that everything is compact and you can clean it up easily. I also like that it's wooden but not too heavy. The four games is amazing, my toddler loves this. The checkers pieces and circles are too big for the squares in the board otherwise this would receive 5 stars.

I played with the kids once so far and they have played multiple times and even in the car on a 90 min trip. I do not recommend it for the car since it is not magnetized (that would create issues for the sling game), but they played a little then used as a table for cards.Only issue we have had with the games is that the elastic sometimes flings up and over the puck while trying to shoot but that is probably better than them slipping lower and launching pucks everywhere. Kids are having a blast with the variety of games; I think it’s great that it is made of wood and not plastic and that it is compact. Would recommend.

I ordered this for my 88 year old mother so that we will have something to do together when winter hits and we can’t go outside as much. She was very happy. The graphics are crisp and clear. The pieces all store inside the case but they will bounce around a lot so I am not sure how durable they will be if you are moving this thing around daily. The pieces aren’t the best, but the overall package is commensurate with the price. If you want high quality precision chess pieces, you’ll be paying three times as much. I never heard of the slingshot game but we were able to figure it out and it was actually quite fun. I would have rather had backgammon on the second side instead of tick tack toe because as long as you always pick three of the corners in your initial moves, your opponent will never win and you always end up in a stalemate. That said, it is easy to use and store and will be great for family fun night. It’s very light which makes it easy to tote around but could be damaged more easily than something more solid so use caution.

I love that this folds up neatly in itself. It is perfect to throw in the car and take on vacation, camping or overnight hotel stays! Not very sophisticated but we have gotten a lot of use out of it and the kids enjoy playing the slingshot puck a lot!

This gaming set is lightweight and everything packs nicely into something small enough to fit on the bookshelf.Chess, checkers, and Tic-Tac-Toe are pretty self-explanatory. The slingshot puck game takes a little finesse to get the right amount of tension to put on the elastic band to get the puck where you want it, but comes quickly.Fit and finish are average, bonus point for including a spare set of elastic bands.
