I've had one for 40 years and it does a good job. I replace it with a new one every 4 years. At Amazon's price that's well worth doin.

This purchase replaced my old 280 Polaris after twelve years. I should have replaced the old one two years ago, but I kept repairing it. It became a pain in the rear the last few months until one of the wheels fell off because the plastic mount finally broke. The new Polaris came with 3 standard bags plus 1 bag with a finer mesh which picks up the small sand or silt that gets in my pool. Although pool cleaners are over priced, the extra bags made it a little less painless. The contractor installed my original Polaris without cutting the suction hose to the proper length. I always had to keep an eye on it because it became entangled after a time and would only go in circles. Read the instructions carefully and install per their direction and you will have a lot less aggravation.

This is a replacement for my Polly that lasted 15 years before she started to grow weak and didn’t travel around the pool and would get tangled. So far this new Polly has done a good job at picking up the dirt she rolls over. I haven’t made any adjustments yet so her tail doesn’t move side to side as much as the old one, it just trails behind and she gets stuck in the corners a lot, she doesn’t have the reverse action to get her from just spinning her wheels to get herself out of the situation. I’m hoping that’s just an adjustment I can make. I didn’t rate “Tech Support” so maybe I should make a call to work out the adjustments and then I’ll have a rating for that.

This is my third Polaris 280 in 21 years of pool ownership. I find that it does the job. OEM parts are absurdly expensive, but you can often find aftermarket parts.

We've had several automatic pool vacs over the years and I have to say this one is by far the best. It hooked up easily with no surprises. It cleans the entire pool beautifully! Sand, leaves, etc...no problem. Pool is spotless. I read several reviews and I debated between this one and the Polaris 360. While that one is the newer model and has one more jet than the 280, from the reviews I decided to purchase this one. I am NOT disappointed. Super happy with this purchase.

This is what our pool looks like after 5 hours of having the cleaner run. It keeps turning on its side or upside down. It climbs the walls and then turns over. It is terrible! I will never buy another one like it.

I replace my old Polaris with a new Polaris. I decided that I wouldn't rebuild this time. My old Polaris has served me well for about 10 years so everything needed to be replaced. This new unit came with 2 leaf bags and 2 silt bags. I have a porous surface which eats up the foam tail scrubbers pretty quickly, so I put on a tail brush instead. Pleased with the new pool sweep.

I have had 3 280 Polaris and they are great. This replaced a Pentair which was not doing well. The Pentair would not pickup and get rid of the fine silt at the bottom of the pool, the 280 does and the pool is clean and sparkling like never before, very happy with this. The 280 is rebuildable which adds longevity to the useful life. Yes I would buy again.
