Works on Android
I bought this to mod my.... portable 3D gaming system. And I was actually able to do it without a laptop, just my phone! I have a newer one (S22) so I can't speak to older androids, but it was as simple as plugging it in and opening up my file explorer.A quirk I noticed with it though, is that it's best to put the SD card in, and then plug it into your USB-c port. If you put the SD card in while it's already plugged in,,, it might not recognize any storage immediately.This may be an android issue only, as I haven't gotten the chance to test this with my Windows laptop.It's always in my purse because of the size, and i haven't noticed any heating up issues!

Transfer photos easily.
I love this, I'm able to take all my cameras SD cards and upload to my tablet. Works great with all types of files.

Not apple compatible
Does not work with IPhone or apple products!I bought it to use with my iPhone 15, but does not work with it.I had to grab my old android & it works with it & an amazon tablet. Pretty disappointed, but works as it’s supposed to when connected to those!

Great performance!
Very happy with this USBC card reader. I purchased it because the card reader on my laptop went out. It was only able to transfer files around 15MB/S. I guess it was a blessing in disguise because with this card reader I am getting much faster results. It copied 30 GB of files in less than 3 minutes.

connection eventually failed so the cards are recognized on and off by my device
This items worked alright for several months, and now it keeps recognizing the device then glitching back off, so that there isn't a stable connection for the device to read any cards. Really annoying and I cannot use it now because of this. It worked for a time but now I can't use it at all in fear of corrupting files if I am transferring them or working from the connection using this device.**Update** the company was able to communicate quickly regarding making things right with a refund, and got back to me promptly about it. So a plus to them with communication and caring about customer service.
