Q: What litter box can be used under the XL to catch sawdust from pine pellets?

You don’t need a separate litter box. I have the Xl system & use it with wood pellets that cost 6.00 a 40 lb bag. All I do is put a small piddle pad on top of the pull out tray. I change the pad once a week. No muss no fuss! I will never use anything else!! I have one cat & she has no problems with her ( kitty condo ) a friend of my mine calls it this!

Q: What are the pad dimensions needed for the XL system? Not the whole system, just the pad?

Amazon Basics makes the same size pad for these and they're way cheaper. They come in 20 or 40 packs with the option of two different scents or unscented. I recommend a scent as it's mild and helps keep smells down.

Q: can the xl be converted to a full bottom pine sifting litter box? xl tray is small and not very xl for a 20 lb. adult cat. i have 38" x 30" pee pads.

I am trying to do this as well. Your pads will extend beyond the perimeter of the xl box as i use 22 x 22" they also are larger than the shorter dimension of the box. Walmart sells a vibrant life litter box that is 16.38"x22"x5". If you take the bottom off the the breeze box you can situate the sifting tray and top fairly snuggly onto this litter box. Even though the sifting area is small, you can just rake through the pine pellets and send the sawdust down below. The 5" deep litter box raised the breeze box too high for one of my older cats. For now I am using the top of a black and yellow "tough tote" to hold pads under the breeze box with the sliding tray removed. This fits but only gives about 1.5" to receive the sawdust. I couldn't find any other pan or tote that fit better. And odor has not been a problem using regular pads.
