Worth it for the pet parents!
Ordered last night, arrived at 6am and got to work by 9! This thing is a BEAST! My former shampooer died yesterday and I found this and read several reviews and took a chance. WORTH EVERY PENNY! The pet solution smells amazing and this machine is super smart, it washes as you push and dries as you pull. The only time I had to use the trigger was to dispense the solution onto the carpet. The tanks for water and solution are separate which helps a ton with not using up too much solution. There’s also a dry only feature so once you’re done cleaning you press the dry only button and it suctions up any remaining water from the carpet. There’s also a separate spot treatment wand and pet stain/furniture attachment and hose that can be connected separately when needed. I’ve never owned a Hoover product and I’m SO glad I picked this machine. Carpets smell amazing and the pet stains came up with ease. I have senior dogs who have accidents and I was worried the odor would still remain but it smells amazing and the carpets are clean and soft! You won’t regret this purchase!

ABSOLUTELY perfect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐²
This is a long post but I thought it worth the time spent to tell you about this product if you've ever had pet messes. As you can probably imagine, in the weeks following TwinkleBelles' stroke, she was unable to get to her potty papers and pretty much didn't have control of her elimination. She normally is absolutely perfect about going potty on the paper. I am going to be honest in telling you that my carpet turned into a nightmare from heck. With the enormity of the ongoing Vet bills and what happened to my car at Honda there is NO WAY that I could afford to replace the carpet.Professional carpet cleaners just wanted WAY too much money. My experience with them has not always been so great anyway because they usually hook up their equipment to the outside spigot, which does not have softened water and the carpet will look clean for a couple of days and then the dirt just resurfaces again. A big giant waste of money. After researching the living crap (pun intended) out of various carpet cleaners, I found this absolutely fantastic machine and I am AMAZED at the wonderful job that it did. It took the mess out of the carpet and the carpet is nice and soft again and the stains are all gone. There was no leakage, like carpet cleaners usually have, and the carpet dried within scant hours. I waited over a week to even say anything about it or even make a review because my experience with carpet cleaners is that the stains come back. They actually have been REMOVED by this carpet cleaner and have NOT returned. They are GONE and I evidenced this by putting water on a portion of the previously very highly stained areas and sucking it up and it is clear so the stains have actually been removed. YAY! That is VERY unusual for a carpet cleaner to accomplish so this one is an absolute winner. Not only did it cost less than professional carpet cleaning but I still have the machine and it will work on upholstery and work to spot clean as well so it has already paid for itself. Well, more accurately my credit card has paid for it 😑. I have not been able to return to work because of the cancer treatment problems but at least I have a clean carpet now. 😁 Also, even though she is quite cognizant of her environment now and getting to her papers, I do not have to worry about any potential issues because it came with a 5-year warranty. YAY 🙂I'm confident that I am not the only one that has ever had to deal with this issue so I wanted to share my finding with you in case the situation either exists in your home or happens in the future. I have had a lot of carpet cleaners before but NONE that were this efficient. It is important to note that I am NOT being commissioned or otherwise paid in any way whatsoever. I am simply trying to be a helpful PetMommy to anyone that may be experiencing trying to clean pet problems out of the carpet. BTW, I spilled her liquid iron supplement, the whole darn bottle tipped over when I was giving it to her one morning, it actually pulled that right out of the carpet in just a couple of passes after I gave up trying to scrub it out for the last few weeks manually. Iron is horrific to try to get out of carpet because it is very dark brownish red and stains horrendously. This took it right out. I used OxiClean carpet shampoo for that.Again, it has been well over a week since I used the cleaner and the stains have not returned and the carpet still feels very soft and plushy again. The purple one that I reference is the most recent model. Amazon had the best price on it at the time of my purchase and I am very pleased.I must also add that it is extremely easy to clean it. The brushes pop right off so that you can clean them easily and the compartments come out very easily. This ensures that you will be able to maintain your new cleaner quite well and is probably why Hoover is able to offer the Five-Year warranty.I am very pleased with my purchase. It has actually already paid for itself in just one use.

Carpet replacement postponed for a bit, thanks to this machine
I've been telling myself that carpet replacement is imminent, so what's the point of steam cleaning? But when I realized my clean socks were dirty from walking on the carpet, I had a meltdown, did a few hours' research, and bought this Hoover SmartWash. And I am over the MOON about it.In the photo, that's not a shadow -- it's the actual nightmare that was this carpet on the left, and the newly cleaned area on the right. (I hadn't yet pulled out the sofa to get up under the edges properly; the stains at the bottom of the photo are now completely gone.) I'll discuss the cleaner first, then add a few tips that have helped me get the best cleaning experience from it.Fitting the pieces together takes a little getting used to, but all the parts fit snugly, and nothing leaks. I briefly lost suction after I emptied the dirty water for the first time, but that was because I hadn't placed the lid back on correctly. (The lid on the receiving tank is a little fiddly, but if you pay attention to the logic of it you won't have any problems.) The edging attachment works great -- gets right up under the edge of the baseboard -- but it's quirky; I'll get to that in a moment. If I could change anything it would be the "spot chaser" attachment. Since it operates on two alkaline batteries, it isn't powerful enough to deliver a robust spray, but instead offers a water-pistol-style stream. I found the Hoover Oxi Spot Chaser very effective, but it takes a lot to fully saturate the stain (and if you aren't thorough, it will come clean in the trickle pattern the sprayer delivers, leaving the rest of the stain behind). Now for the tips:-- The solution tank doesn't leak, but it does drip a little when you remove it. Keep an old towel handy to catch the drips. Ditto for the spot-cleaner tank.-- Keep another towel by the sink where you empty the receiving tank and refill the water tank. It's a messy process, not because of the design but because water + gravity = splashing.-- While working, plan each forward stroke, going slowly where the dirt is heaviest to allow extra solution to dispense, and more quickly where the dirt is lightest. Ditto for each backward strike, going more slowly over the really dirty bits.-- Don't skip the plain-water rinsing step. If you work barefoot, you can feel where the carpet is wet with solution vs. where it's just wet with water; that solution residue will attract dirt after the carpet dries. The rinsing step also lifts out additional dirt that the first pass brought close to the surface but didn't quite get.-- Extraction is your friend. Go slowly and let the Hoover suck every visible drop of water out of the carpet, bringing the dirt, dander, and dust mites with it. Your carpet will also dry more quickly if you don't neglect this step (and in summer, a damp carpet easily becomes a sour, smelly carpet).-- The spray from the edging tool will land a couple inches short of the baseboard. If you want it to reach all the way to the edge, you'll need to lift the tool and angle the spray where you want it to go. Let the solution sit a little, then really work that tool into the gap, angling the head up and down to find the best suction. If you're not especially strong, it helps to apply a little downward pressure with the opposite hand so it can really suck the water out. (Sadly, the brush won't reach that gap no matter what you do. To remove trapped hair, you'll need to go in first with a small, stiff brush.)-- Clean the machine thoroughly after use, and allow all the parts to dry before reassembling it. Trust me on this. If you have pets, there will be a lot of wet, nasty hair that you'll want to get out of there before it dries.-- And finally, although I found the Hoover-branded cleaning solutions very effective, I obviously needed some extra oomph. I ended up pre-treating stains and traffic areas with a solution of OxiClean (1/4 scoop to 32 oz. water), applied with a spray bottle. Where necessary I later re-treated the especially funky stains with the Spot Chaser.I don't always go on with product reviews, but the enthusiastic ones helped me, and I want to pass that along. Buy this machine. You won't regret it.

Good shampooer as long as you’re not purchasing it for the spotting wands.
I would like to give this shampooer five stars but cannot. I have purchased two of these units and both of the spotting wands do not work. One worked the first time I used it and then quit. The second unit never worked brand new out of the box. As long as you are not purchasing it for the spotting wands, you should be happy. If you want it for the wand, don’t bother. Unfortunately the wand was the reason I was interested in the unit. I did attempt to get warranty on both wands that are obviously defective but it was such a hassle that I decided to purchase a small pump up sprayer. The shampooer itself does a good job.
