My lamp arrived so very securely packaged that it was a process to open/access, but everything was included & undamaged ! Assembly was very simple and did not require any tools. ATTENTION FOR ANYONE WHO SEEKS PERFECTION: After Assembly I noticed that the the sections are all slightly curved & this lamp might annoy anyone with OCD or other expectations of excellence! I don't mind this imperfection because my brass lamp satisfied my needs. I really appreciate the ability to adjust the height because my bed is 12 inches from the floor & I can easily reach the switch for on/off & dimming. The "shade" can easily rotate 360% to direct light wherever desired . It seems to be very durable & sturdy because I've attempted to knock it over without success....the weighted base is adequate to prevent accidental displacement. This lamp is attractive, low profile (requires minimal floor space) & was affordable for me! I plan to purchase another as soon as possible because I LOVE THIS LAMP!

This is a fantastic over the shoulder, reading light! I've parked it at one end of my loveseat for cosy reading times. It has a very classic look but could fit in with just about any decor.The brass finish has a lovely, smooth look, that should not scratch or get dented easily. It was very well protected and shipping with no dings before installation.The base is fantastic. It's very heavy and grounding for the lamp so it's not easy to tip over.I love the dimming feature, which, rather than just a few settings is a fading dim with a hold-down touch contril. The light colour is not too white or sharp, but definitely bright enough for reading fine print. The adjustable head also allows tilting away, easily one less light is needed, and more when the book has itty-bitty words.I've had the lamp on for two hours now, and placing my hand directly against the glass under the bulb. It is barely warm to the touch. So this is not generating heat or a cause for heat hazard.Installation took me all of 11 minutes from opening the box to turning the light on. no tools required. The threaded segments are all metal to metal which tends to hold and last very well. Keep a careful eye out for the small brass bar that is attached to the lampshade for adjustment, it's tucked into the plastic bag with the paper instructions.I have only just received it yesterday, but all is looking really great. Will share updates if anything changes.

Love the low profile! I got two, one for next to my husband’s recliner and one for next to mine. The dimmer feature is great, whether you need high light to read or lower light for coziness. I’d buy again!

Just received the lamp yesterday so haven’t used it yet, that’s why only 4 stars. It arrived a day early (always a nice surprise) and was extremely well packaged with good instructions. It assembled easily and seems like a decent lamp with a very sturdy base. I doubt it will ever tip over. The location of the switch is well placed and unobtrusive on the lamp itself rather than on the cord. I really like the dimming/brightening feature. This lamp is an attractive piece that looks nice next to my sofa where I plan to use it for a reading light. So far, no regrets and would highly recommend.

This light is well-made and very useful for those wanting to read or knit while others watch TV. They can be turned so that the light is focused on the knitting while NOT reflecting in the TV screen. Highly recommended!

Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Perfect for reading the newspaper, then, after dimming, watching a movie on tv. looks great! I oiled absolutely buy it again

It is easy to put together. There is a bend in the pole which is normal. Other reviewers stated a bend in the pole also. The lamp is flexible in height and angle of the light. The light brightness is good for reading. I need to see what bulb is used. I would recommend this lamp.

For the price, this is a great lamp. While it isn’t difficult to put together, the directions could be a bit more helpful regarding the cord. If you look at the bottom of the nice very heavy base, you will see what looks like a channel in which you would expect to put the cord to keep the base level. But the directions show the cord coming out of the pole so that’s how I put it together. Then, of course I noticed the cord came apart and thought “Ah ha! That’s how it works.” But after removing the base I found that the cord doesn’t fit through the hole. A couple of statements in the directions would help clear this up.Other than that, I like the ability to determine the perfect light setting for me, and the ability to raise and lower it and adjust the angle as needed!
