Long lasting color without harsh chemicals. Its a powder so it has to be mixed with water to make a paste, a little lemon juice to best set color and olive oil to condition hair. Its messy....henna crumbles as it dries ...as you are applying it... and can stain clothes. My hair smells like greenish earth until its been washed a couple times. And its time consuming. Instructions recommend letting paste sit for an hour before applying and about 1-2 hours after applying. Cant get highlights unless the hair is stripped since the henna really gets deep in the hair shaft. That being said....I love it!...its worth the time, mess and smell. My hair is a lovely color....always get compliments. Ive used this brand for several years now and color seems consistent. Conditioned with the olive oil as its being colored so my hair is very soft ( became brittle with chemical coloring) and .....heres a great motivator......its cheap!1 box lasts for several colorings....how many depends on if you color whole head each time or just the roots. If you have patience and some time ....this is great stuff. If not....then maybe try something else.

I'm so disappointed! Been using henna for years and have my method of mixing and application perfected for my hair. I have used this brand in Rouge for the past few years and it has always given my hair the exact red tint I want - until now. This was my first time ordering it on Amazon. I ordered 2 boxes of Rouge but both boxes gave my hair a yellowish/blonde tint - not red AT ALL. Both boxes say Rouge, however, the henna inside is obviously not Rouge. After using some of the first box, I thought "Well, accidents happen. Someone put the wrong bag in the Rouge box," so I opened the second box to try again (2 months later) and it turned out the same color as the first box! I am beyond frustrated and highly disappointed. Now I'm afraid to order this product again.

This wasn't a good batch. It had too much indigo. I could tell from the smell and color. It smells awful. Even though I expect consistency when I use henna, but once in a blue moon a bad batch pops up. The first box I bought was fine so I don't know where they got this box from. But I prefer my hair tones red not black.Update: 8/17/2022 I bought this again hoping the last time I bought it was a bad batch, it was the same again. I just won't buy it from here anymore.

I try to support small businesses and my first box of Reshma Rouge henna made my hair a lovely light fire auburn. The rouge made my hair feel silky and strong. The Second box of rouge I just ordered and used last night turned my hair black, not light brown, not brown, blacker than black. It's horrible. It seems the wrong color henna was put in to a Rouge box. I followed the directions exactly as stated on the box which is not for a working day. A whole day is needed to produce the effect.Mix till creamy, let sit for 2 hours and leave on hair for 4 hours, a lot of time and effort wasted. My hair feels great and strong but it's BLACK. I'm so disappointed, I cried. I look foolish and witchy and Halloweenish. And I now have to strip it with a baking soda paste and hope this small business works harder to keep products in order. I'm so sad... Amazon wants me to return it and charge me 8.00 for pick up. So sad because I have a wedding to go to tomorrow. And I look like a Halloween prop. My hair is shiny though
