A High-End Camera Strap at a High-End Price.
I am a fan of Peak Design's products and already own their carbon fibre tripod, 2 x Capture Clips, a host of Anchors, and a CL-3 wrist strap. Complete satisfaction with my previous purchases gave me the confidence to buy the Slide strap without first seeing one in the flesh. This strap was bought because I have arthritis in my cervical spine and a conventional neck strap gives me discomfort when carrying my camera. To solve that issue I had previously used a chest harness that I had adapted with a Capture Clip that proved extremely comfortable in use. A major drawback of this though is the fact that when I shoot, the camera is just held in my hand and therefore tempting to thieves. It is also easy to slip on rough ground and drop a valuable camera. On a recent photoshoot in London's Brick Lane a resident took the trouble to warn me of a spate of camera snatches. Bearing in mind the value of my camera, I resolved to explore other options. The Slide strap offers me the ability to have the camera slung across my body while still allowing easy access. It means that while the camera is in my hands, the strap remains around my torso and thus cannot be snatched by a passing thief on a bicycle. Using it gives me a greater sense of security, and I don't think that is misplaced. The strap is cleverly designed with one side being smooth, and the other fitted with silicone gripping areas. Simply flipping it over permits one to transition from a strap that can easily slide across fabrics in order to allow a camera to be brought to the eye without problems, to a strap that does not slide off the shoulder. Using a slippery strap usually makes one hitch one shoulder higher than the other to prevent the strap from slipping off, soon causing pain. The strap has a level of internal padding to cushion the weight of a larger camera/lens (beware the Slide Lite does not possess this feature). The buckles are incredibly simple to operate, even with one hand, so that the strap can be shortened/lengthened in a second or two.The strap can be attached to the camera in a number of ways using the plate and quickly-detachable fittings known as Peak Design Anchors. These QD fittings are the work of a genius and can be operated with just one hand. I would recommend watching Peak Design's video on Youtube for advice on how to set up and wear this strap. The price of this strap may initially seem a little steep, but this must be balanced against the value of one's camera. For me, with a used camera and lens coming in at more than £2.5K, the price is a small fraction of what I have paid for my photography. It makes the camera easier to use, as does all Peak Design's gear, plus it makes it harder for a dishonest person to deprive me of gear that I have had to work hard to afford. Using it gives one a sense that one owns the Rolls Royce of camera straps, and it isn't possible to put a price on such a feeling. The product shows excellent thought and flair in its design, and it is made of top-quality materials. It has a couple of components that are made of leather in some of the available colours, so if you are a vegan you need to buy the black version, as that one replaces the leather with a man-made alternative. That little consideration proves how much Peak Design think of their customers. The strap itself is made from the same material as the webbing used in vehicle seat belts, and we know how durable that is. Peak Design apparently have total faith in their products and exemplary customer service. All in all, this is a great strap that will make you remember its quality and functionality long after its price has been forgotten. Buy one; you will not be disappointed.

Just works. And well!
It does its job and does it well. I am carrying a Sony 200-600 using this and feel confident slinging it to the side and cracking on.

Quality reliable strap.
Would give this 4.5 out of 5.The clips could do with being half centimetre longer.Quality wise this is a lovely camera strap replacement and secure, which is the most important thing.I have the hand strap as well, so easy to just swap about. What is most important is feeling your gear is being held securely, then comfort of the strap. There are alternatives that are cheaper, but these PD’s are the best I find for this type of fixture.I do own other types that are very good and I use on other equipment, but I do like this strap.

A really functional camera strap
I paused over buying this because of its price but so glad I went ahead. It justifies the high reviews as it is so easy to adjust and to connect or disconnect to the camera. It is plain good quality. I was also pleased with the company’s environmental credentials too. Thoroughly recommended!
