As advertised
Works great, fits my 09 Ford Focus, saved me a lot of money when it wouldn't reliably start to be able to fix it myself with a cheap part shipped to my door

The problem got progressively worse, so I researched the possible causes
I had a problem with my car ignition not starting unless I jiggled the key. The problem got progressively worse, so I researched the possible causes. After ruling out a worn-down key, the possibilities pointed to an ignition switch or the key lock cylinder. I decided to try replacing the ignition switch first because it is an easier job, and it turned out to be the cause of the problem.I purchased this ignition switch and it was half the price of AutoZone and arrived the next day for an additional $3.99. The installation was easy, the instructions were good, and there are a couple YouTube videos that were helpful. Total install time was about 30 minutes. The hardest part (by far) was finding the right size ratchet or nut driver to remove the screws holding the steering column sheath on (which may be unique to each car) -- but it turned out to be 7/32, which apparently is a seldom used size, not carried by smaller hardware stores. I am not mechanically inclined, so it was satisfying to find a part that worked as advertised at a good price, which was easy to install, and took care of a nagging problem.

Didn't solve our problem.
Purchased and installed easy enough but did not solve our particular problem. We bought the A-Premium Ignition Lock Housing next and all is good.

Perfect replacement for older Ford Escape
Solves the problem of the dreaded "turn key, click, no engine ignition" that sometimes happens with 2009-12 era Escape and similar. Watch the YouTube video showing how to access and remove old one/install new one (take off battery terminal first).Make sure new one is aligned and fully seated to lock cylinder pin--ours needed just a tiny click toward key to engage. Took about 20 minutes and now the car starts every time like new!If you're keeping your old Escape and it's beginning to give you the "click--nothing happens--I'm stuck here" scenario, buy one of these immediately. If your key still works, buy one to have ready, because it's going to happen...

2008 Ford Escape
I knew my ignition switch was starting to go. I did the put the key in and jiggle it just right for a couple months until it got harder to start. The part fits. It was easy to replace myself. I watched a couple YouTube videos on how to do it. The only trouble I had was getting the pin to line up with the part so that I could snap it back on. Once I got it on, car started right up.
