the item is a smooth emulsion with a gentle fragrance....easy to use...i gave it 5 stars but in my opinion it would be a much better product if it had more of the active ingredient in it.....it would be improved a lot if it was 2% zinc pyrithione

I switched to this particular dandruff shampoo + conditioner because the price of the name brands was getting ridiculous. I was pleased to find that it worked well with my hair & had an inoffensive scent. I was well into my 2nd bottle when I noticed that my hair wasn't getting squeaky clean anymore, & my dry hair felt heavy & a bit gummy. Diagnosis: residue buildup. Solution: use a different shampoo to get rid of the buildup before switching back to the Amazon brand. I had a bottle of Selsun Blue around, which worked very well.You don't need to make it complicated: do a first wash with the different shampoo, rinse, then shampoo again with the Amazon. Your hair will once again squeak with cleanliness. You don't necessarily need to use a dandruff shampoo for the 1st wash as long as you use one for the 2nd. Since you're probably considering this shampoo for the price, let me direct you to a couple of cheaper shampoos to use for the residue. Alberto VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze Clarifying Shampoo is an absolute steal at under $3 & it gets good reviews. I'd try it for myself if it didn't contain rosemary leaf extract, which my skin is sensitive to (do you know how many skin & hair products contain rosemary extract? Too many). For a non-rosemary containing shampoo, there's Prell Shampoo Original which is under $4. But any different shampoo would likely do.P.S. As long as we're discussing bargain prices, Aim is a good ADA approved fluoride toothpaste & it's $1.44 at my local grocery.P.P.S. If you have relatively straight hair, then keep a comb in your shower. After you have your conditioner or shampoo/conditioner worked in, comb your hair. This'll get the tangles out, plus kill some time if you're supposed to let your conditioner sit for a minute.

It's been wonderful for our large family; we have five children and three bathrooms. I purchased this six months ago, and I still have one bottle remaining. It leaves my hair smelling incredibly fresh and feeling thoroughly clean.

Love this shampoo! My hair is dandruff free! It’s a shampoo/conditioner combo which saves money and water!

Smells great but it leaves your hair feeling slightly greasy/sticky. Would be good for days you want to wear your hair up! I like using it a couple days a week in between my other shampoo and conditioner- which I believe you are supposed to do anyways! I used to use Head and shoulders and I dont feel like it left it as greasy as this does.

If you have dandruff get this stuff right here...Great price and truly effective...My son had dandruff.. This cleared his dandruff in a few days!!!!

Comparable to Head and Shoulders for a fraction of the price. Smells great too!
