FilofaxA5 Refillable Notebook - Black

This has quickly become my favourite writing pad. It is comfortable to write with, I can rearrange the pages, and I can easily add dividers. I’m happy you can get extra paper too. It’s the perfect size. I wish it came with a pen holder, but those can be bought separately, and I wish the cover would take washi tape better, to make it easier to personalise, and I wish it were cheaper, so I could justify buying a load more, but all in all, I’m very happy with it.

This is my second Filofax notebook - my other is A4 but this time I went for A5 as the A4 book is quite messy and tricky with the page inserts. These notebooks aren't the cheapest but they look great and are light, re-usable and practical. The A5 option has more choice on the type of inserts you can buy from Filofax although I also bought the hole punch which means I can add my own pages.

I've spent years working out of black n red ring-bound books at university and later on in an R&D setting. One of the biggest hurdles has always been keeping on top of on-going projects and the substantial data that is collected. Everything from test data, meeting notes, task planning, tooling sketches - a lot of data that is not readily digitized. This, paired with multiple ongoing projects and linear books makes forgetting or losing past information very easy.Over the last 6 months, I moved over to using a single A5 Filofax refillable book beginning with just general note-taking. It quickly became apparent that the flexibility of whipping out pages to regroup by topic is a powerful tool in personal organising.I've now expanded to a pair of A4 and A5 books for writing to and subsequent colour coded A4/A5 books for each customer project in which pages can be transferred to. The ability to remove entire book contents also allows me to archive my notes via auto feed scanners, OCR text recognition turns the pages into searchable documents provided my handwriting was neat enough that day.Of course, ring-binders have allowed you to do this for decades but the Filofax refill format is considerably more modern in its low profile spine design. It genuinely feels and behaves as a standard book, unlike even the more upscale ring-binders.A few caveats though;The wire spine can be deformed through over 6 months of use I have yet to see a book fail.The page blanks are pocketed but the pocket slot is smaller than a standard page so are somewhat worthless. Down the line, I intend to purchase the (expensive) refill punch and make my own laminated separators for erasable to-do lists per category as a better alternative to the dismal pocket spacers.Finally, the page count per book is rather restrictive. In reality, you will not fit much more than the original page count as a page needs a reasonable gap in the spine to freely turn.In short, I've found working in these refill books has really helped my personal organisation in a line of work that generates a lot of hardcopy work that can quickly get unmanageable in conventional books, much the same as a ring-binder folder would but in a neater package.

The media could not be loaded.  I personally use it as my bullet journal and couldn't be happier.I can move a page whenever I want allowing me to fully personalize the layout of my journal.The outer cover is very thick and very rich in color. it comes with lined pages but you can take them off if you prefere dotted pages instead, I use a mix of both.It has dividers too, and one of them has a pocket which is very handy as you can keep notes or stencils in there, it also has a ruler with it's own holes so you can just place it in the notebook without it falling out I personally use it as a mark to know where I left last time.Overall very happy! I saw their website too where you can get more personalized covers.Overall very happy!

After many years of using an Apple Pencil and iPad for note taking (I take a lot of notes!) I finally realised that this way of working was OK, but really missed taking notes on real paper.I have had many notebooks over the years (pre-iPad) but never one with removable sheets and this has to one of the best features of this Filofax Refillable Notebook.It comes with dividers a ruler and a good set of paper. I purchased this product looking for a more flexible alternative to the traditional notebook. This book is just what I needed! The outside is made of a smooth and colourful faux leather material - not the thickest, but sturdy enough for everyday use. The book itself is filled with thick pages which are easy to move around. I was initially scared that using this system, the pages would be prone to fall out, but even after bending the book on itself a few times, I haven't had any pages drop out. I'd see this being a great system for students or people who need help to organise notes without buying a bunch of notebooks. Highly Recommended.

The divaders does not look like the picture. The ones that were included were all grey. I made a return. The quality of the notebook itself is very good. For being a synthetic cover, it's well done.
