Solid mount. Good value.
Purchased this with the GoPro tripod mount to put a GoPro camera on my cycle handlebars.I would have purchased the dedicated GoPro handlebar mount, but reviews suggest you can't rely on it not to break and drop your camera on the tarmac. For the price, this mounts is feels solid and reliable. I have hit some pretty big pot holes cycling in London, and never a sign it would give way.Setting up the GoPro vertically above this mount results in quite a high 'stack' of mount + adapter + camera. After some experimentation, I found it best to position the mount horizontally (screw facing horzontally forwards) then rotate the GoPro 90 degrees on the tripod mount so it is suspended below it. This looks more compact and less precarious - also puts the camera in front of the brake/gear cables giving a clear view forwards. Search You Tube for "GoPro Hero 3 Silver Edition - Low Light - Cycling - London" and you can see the results.

Works really well
Works really well. The bracket bolts onto a bicycle handlebar very securely. The ball joint allows all degrees of freedom to position the camera as needed, and then tightens securely using the thumb-wheel below the ball joint. I used this at Centerparcs to film my family's cycle rides on the fixed-fork bikes we hired. I used a Nikon p310 which is mainly a stills camera with HD video capability and it didn't react well to bumps in the paths, however I also used it with a Sony HDX camcorder which has image stabilising as its main selling point, and that gave excellent results. It might give even smoother results on a bike with a suspension fork but I haven't tried that yet. Really pleasing results though for the money. I highly recommend this for family fun, but best used with an image stabilising camcorder.

Stable, secure and worthy
I'm from Portugal and I bought this item to be attached to a kartcross/buggy.Instead of buying a Hero Camcorder, I bought this so I could use my FlipVideo Camcorder.I just made a test-run and I'm really surprised. It was easy to mount, the diameter the mount supports is good and the camcorder fits fine in the hard rubber so the camera wont move along the way.My biggest fear was the bumps, I was affraid the mount would break at any moment but it didn't. It looks strong enough to support major bumps in the road. Also, the angle the mount allows you to tilt the camera is more than enough (It's not 90º, but close to 40º)The only thing that could be better are the handlebar rubbers. They're a little thin so the image looks a bit shaky - but nothing a software can't fix without over-cropping the image.Overall:If you are looking for a cheap and easy solution to fix your camcorder to any bar in your bicycle/motorcycle/buggy/etc., this does the job.

Headline? Make it exciting.. Man uses camera to record things while cycling.
The mount seems pretty sturdy as my video didn't shake at all, except for bumps of course. Make sure the screws are very tight before you start, mine was very loose when I first started using it but after tightening it I had no problems. What else can I say? The screws are shiny, black is nice and it takes a bloody long time to screw in so I do not think someone would bother standing there for 10 minutes to unscrew it. They are more likely to spend a minute or two stealing your wheels if you have quick release on them, so buy another lock, one for the frame and another for the wheels!Oh I also realised you can just use this as a camera stand even while you are not cycling. All you have to do is carry your bike inside and turn the handlebars so the camera is pointing at your bed and bang, you have got it set-up to record some home-made videos with your wife and bit of the side, happy filming!

Ok for the money
As it is quite cheap you can't expect amazing things so for the money it is fine. The attachment for the handle bar is very secure and well made with good sturdy screws. It fitted my MTB and Road bike bars very securely. But you need a camera that can cancel out the vibrations for this kind of thing and my Pentax wg3 wasn't good at that. The bit that attaches to the camera is the week link and mine snapped as I tried to tighten it to keep it from turning round while cycling. I think with a smaller lighter, centrally mounted camera it would be ok, but mine was side mounted and so needed extra tightening. I won't buy another to replace this for this camera at least.

Better than I was expecting, seems really sturdy and stable.
Fits nicely on handle bars and the fact it screws on instead of a clip makes it really sturdy and it doesn't look like it will every come lo0se,. It tightens nicely, can be angled and holds the camera firmly in place during my daily commute. Very impressed. Might be a downside for some, due to the way it's attached there is no quick release (not an issue for me).

Nice piece of kit
Nice piece of kit. Feels nice and solid on the bars, holds my compact nice and still, no shaking or juddering (on a smooth road). I wouldn't trust it with my DSLR but that's just me.2021 update: after 7 years' use, it snapped in two while I was fitting it to my other bike. Not too bad I suppose.

Lasted 6 rides - with only a very light camera
Brought this for a tiny Vivitar 785HD. Fairly easy to fit. Adjusted okay for bike. But after a few rides the camera fell off.Under the rubber base there is a screw which is held in place only by the rubber washer.Only good point is it fell off as a I walked in doors - so didn't break the camera. Not really solid enough - would have trashed the camera if it has fallen off 5 minutes earlier.

Funciona bastante bien
Es para otro tipo de cámara pero se la puse para una que ya tenia resistió bastante bien a caminos con adoquín y piedra se movió mucho pero no paso nada, muy firme y util, mas barato que otras que he llegado a ver aca mismo en amazon.

Great quality!
This is the 2nd mount I've bought from Arkon and both have been great. The plastic they use for their mounts are solid and strong!I'll admit that the nut on the ball joint is not the strongest - if you planned to use this on a handlebar of a bicycle. However, the two screws that clamps it into the bar is very secure.I actually used this to mount a mini projector, clamped onto a pipe on the wall. For my purposes, it did the job excellent since it is not moving at all.

Buon prodotto
Ottimo prodotto, fate attenzione a non serrare troppo le viti perché vi resta in mano, ottima adattabilità a svariati diametri. L'ho montato su un 34mm di diametro.
