Excellent product. Mine uses the Pi 3 model B. Fast and super easy set up. I have 4 other hotspots (some I built from scratch). This duplex version is worth every cent. Quality and case are excellent. Instruction are well done. I use it for both YSF and DMR. I will be buying a second unit. WC4RUpdate: Asked seller for support help and he was fast, accurate, and detailed. This is THE place to buy your hotspots! I won't bother building my on hotspots.

Let's first talk about the case. At first, I didn't think I was going to like the housing. It rattles, the plastic sides slide around, and well, it just wasn't as nice looking as another I've purchased. I was going to order or print something different. There were other priorities and time went on, and I hadn't changed out the housing. I'm glad I didn't get to it. It really grew on me, to the point where I actually love it. It's "chunky feeling," it rattles, well you get the pic. Fun case! The boards and screen are fine. No issues with the included, mSD card, preloaded with pi-star. This is a 2B Raspberry Pi, therefore you know it does not have onboard WiFi. It does come with a perfectly working, cheap, tiny, USB wireless NIC. I did / do use the WiFi for any interactions, including first startup.It is the tiny screen, but honestly I'm never looking at either of my hotspots running, as I'm using an OLD Chromebook to open up a few browser windows, 2 are the pi-star applications for both hotspots, recolored light blues for this hotspot and dark blue colors for my other hotspot pi-star window. That's a good tip if you are looking at several hotspots at the same time, recolor then all differently so you know at a glance what hotspot you're looking at.Wow, long read, sorry about that. If you have reached this point, buy the thing already! Hi-hiOh, this one didn't come with a USB (micro) cable and the A/C adapter. I have a zillion of them all over the house. I do hear some others that have had problems with power warnings on their Raspberry Pi, especially the 4. I've never had an issue with any I run as long as I'm using 15 watt or higher adaptor. I run some on 5 volt, 3 amp adaptors and at least 2 Raspberry Pi boards on 5 volt, 6 amps.Have fun and hope to catch you down the log!73 N8LEJ

I had high hopes because of generally good reviews. The unit I received did not come with a wifi dongle. So, I used the wired Ethernet port. No luck. After trying many attempts, I finally got the OLED display to come to life. But I was not able to access the hotspot at the indicated IP address so I restarted and never got the display to come back on again.I tried a wifi dongle from another pi, no luck with that. So, I requested a replacement unit.Second unit arrived, also WITH NO WIFI DONGLE!!! These guys need to do something about their quality control. Basically, same result except the Ethernet port on the new unit doesn't seem to work, no connect LED at either end.From the provided instructions, it appears that the device should connect either by Ethernet or by the default wifi of m100, and when it connects the display should light up and show the IP address.I only had the display come on one time, on one of the 2 units, no idea why it connected that one time and no idea why no connection since.Swapped the TF card from the first unit into the 2nd unit, and now the 2nd unit links the Ethernet connection, so something bad with the 2nd unit's TF card.Really disappointed and will return these and see if I have better luck from another vendor. One bad one can be a fluke, 2 bad ones is just lousy quality control.

My brother advised me to get this 2 weeks before I even had my license, so it just sat there for awhile.After I finally had my callsign and getting a DMR id, I finally tried to tackle this.I spent a few hours trying different things and only got flashing LEDs.My dear brother wasn't much help either, so I contacted the seller through Amazon. They replied within hours..!My unit initially arrived with a USB flash drive but no SD card (or so I think). It *may* have had an SD card initially but I might have swapped it out with a 32 Mb card. I don't recall BUT....that turned out to be the issue.The *Brains* for this thing reside on that SD card.Their customer service walked me through the process of downloading the correct image files and SD card writer and got me up and running in about 30 minutes.I can't thank them enough. Fantastic customer support for a change. They even sent me a replacement SD card as a backup.This one sits on my desk, connected via LAN line to the router, and let's me talk world-wide while at home.I'm now buying another one for the truck to stay mobile - via my phone.

Been using this hotspot for a few months now and as far as usage it works great if you are in the same room. Don’t walk outside to set on a porch or walk into another room expecting to continue a conversation. I finally got tired of being stuck in the same room to use it. So I had a couple of antennas I don’t use and put those on the hotspot and now it has made the hotspot more usable throughout my entire house and outside as well. Don’t know if the original antennas were faulty. If you think the range should be better, try a couple of knock off baofeng long whip antennas and see if the range Improves.
