Good economical vacuum
Once I found several vacuums that met my must have list (bagless, dust brush, floor level control, ability to keep roller from tearing up carpet when using attachments), I chose this model for several reasons:The price $89 on saleThe weight (13.5 lbs)The decibel level (70) For me and my dog (80 dbs is getting to be too loud for them)I have not been disappointed. It does NOT scatter, it does not blow back in your face (a prior Bissell model I have is like using a blow dryer when the thing is on).The base is wide enough for good coverage, but does prevent getting into tight spots (around the toilet or between coffee table and couch). These things are nominal issues.Suction is great, and with five levels to choose from, it is easy to find a good compromise between cleaning and being difficult to maneuver. So far, I have only two minor complaints, but neither warrant docking a star:The cord keeper at the top (the doo-hickey to keep the cord from falling on the floor) does not really do it's job, and the dusting brush, just out of the box is too stiff to really clean well unless you keep it absolutely flat on the surface to be dusted. Trying an older, softer brush made a big difference.I end up getting a new vacuum every 2-4 years (NOTHING lasts), and I won't mind replacing this vs. a $600 vacuum. I've had both, and this cleans as well, if not better, than 'top end' sweepers.

Bissell Clear View w retractable cord
I can’t speak of the longevity of this vacuum, but I’m very pleased with it so far. Having tried the battery stick type, the robot, and the canister, I like this upright the best. The stick vacuum battery died twice, and it was like $100 to replace. I liked the convenience, but not the expense or not being able to clean the floors while waiting for a new battery to arrive. The robot vacuum was also convenient, but in my opinion, it didn’t pick up nearly as well as a standard vacuum cleaner.. if you live in a house with large rooms and not too much furniture, the robot will be fine, but for small apartments, it bounces off every surface and goes over the same place three times, while missing other spots completely. And if you want to rearrange your furniture, you have to re-map the whole place. It would take 45 minutes and not do a great job.As for the canister vacuum, it was cumbersome to drag around, and it would kept getting caught when navigating around doorways.THIS ONE: It seems very well made and sturdy. I’m a senior, and it was easy for even me to put together. Just snap the hose ends in I put the extra brushes on their holders.. it has a long, retractable cord, which is a definite bonus -no more cords to tediously wrap around the handles. It does not make an annoying, high-pitched wine like some vacuums. It has a wand release and brushes to clean high areas like blinds or curtains, and low areas like baseboards. You can adjust the height for carpet or bar floor. I have a low pile carpet and I left the setting in the middle and it worked fine on my carpet and my kitchen floor. The suction power was great and I got quite a bit of dust out of my carpet. I also like that I can see what came off my floor and empty the container very easily. I think this vacuum is well worth the price and I highly recommend it.

I love my new vacuum
I love this vacuum. The height settings are a little odd I can't use the lowest setting because the brushes just grind at the floor but I do use it occasionally to get stuck stuff off my floors. After using just my Roomba on my carpeted rooms for over 6 months. you would not believe the amount of hair and dirt I got out of those carpets. Also the color I chose said red on the selection but from the picture I saw that it was aquamarine so I couldn't resist because that's my favorite color. Not a big fan of the removable hose. I don't like how there's a stick you have to hold and it's kind of long to do stairs easily because it keeps bumping either side of the wall or banister and I have to switch directions. Oh well just a personal niche.Overall this is the best vacuum I've ever had I love the rewind cord I will never get a vacuum without one.
