Outdated but good info
This book is a little outdated but has some good info in it. Sometimes, old school is better than the newer treatments and remedies. Nothing was curing the condition i was fighting for 5 yrs. I was going INSANE! My doc was at a loss. I tried a very old school remedy, think 1950-60s, and it took it away in 2 days.

great resource
the topics in this book aren't pleasant ones to read about so it's not a fun book per se but it's a valuable resource. i've always been drawn to naturopathic doctors since they look at the whole person and treating the root cause of the issue, not just covering up the problem or treating the symptoms. this book is written from that perspective. for me and what i was interested in, this book provided good information including and explanation in easy to understand terms and in the manner that the doctor may convey the issue to you. also, there's clear guidance on how to prevent and treat the condition. i plan on reading through other sections for general information purposes.i like that this doctor didn't push certain brands of products or recommend things that were hard to find or unreasonable for the average person to do. it's very practical. also, she doesn't shun traditional medicine, meaning she explains how traditional medical procedures may come into play for various conditions. as much as we'd like to avoid them, traditional doctors do help identify and play a role in healing from some of the issues we as women face. this book just broadens your base of knowledge so you can find a solution that's good for you.i would recommend this book as an important part of a woman's health and wellness library.

this has really helped me!
Last year I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts and prescribed BCPs. The BCPs had such awful side effects that I had to quit taking them. I became very frustrated with Western medicine so I began to seek more information. I have a friend whose mother is a GYN and operates multidisciplinary clinic. She recommended this book to me and it has been GREAT. It explains several different approaches to each issue so you can decide for yourself which approach might be best for you, or even try a multi-pronged approach. I made some dietary changes and added some supplements and I have seen many of my symptoms reduced or even vanished! Thankfully, the cysts are normal, cyclical but many of my symptoms have plagued me for YEARS. What a relief to get REAL help for REAL problems. I love that you can use it as a resource just for specific issues, but it's so well-organized and easy to read that I read the whole thing to gain more knowledge and perspective on several women's health issues.

Incredibly helpful resource!
I purchased this book after years of irregular periods. I had been placed on birth control in my teens to "manage" the problem without actually investigating the reasons behind the irregularity. When I removed myself from birth control in hopes of getting pregnant I realized I really needed to determine the underlying issue and correct it. Modern medicine is very lacking in this area.I went to my gyno for blood work and a diagnosis and then researched treatment in this book. I'm happy to say that with the treatment and diet suggestions on this book I was able to finally have regular periods and eventually get pregnant! I went from having a period every 65-85 days to every 27-35 days! I charted temps and other things using the Fertility Awareness Method while using my treatment plan and discovered that I began to ovulate as well. I saw regular progression over the course of probably 12-15 months before becoming pregnant. This wasn't a quick fix by any means and required daily dedication to my supplements, diet, and overall health. I'm truly thankful that I found this book and was able to heal my body. I learned a lot about myself throughout the process. Thanks to the author for all of the research and knowledge included in this book!

Love it!
I love this book and Dr. Hudson! She gives so many helpful details on so many different women's ailments. I've read probably most of her blog and I still managed to learn new things from this book. I've been battling VVC for 7 months after having been on antibiotics for 6 weeks to treat a rather resistant case of pneumonia. I've seen my family doctor, my OB/GYN, a specialist at a leading University Hospital, had many, many tests performed from full panel STD to blood cell counts, etc. All of them threw potent, very expensive, potentially dangerous antifungal prescriptions at me that failed miserably. Not one of the "medical professionals" once mentioned anything related to diet or natural approaches. After following Dr. Hudson's advice for chronic VVC I was clear of symptoms until I mistakenly thought I was out of the woods after only two too short months. But I felt so much better and NORMAL again I forgot I was ever sick. Starting over and sticking to it this time. She has saved my quality of life and relationship! The only thing I can say negatively is I wish it were more in depth. But I love to study health related issues so that's a personal opinion. I would definitely recommend this to any woman wanting to better her 'female' health or even her overall health in general.
