I have been struggling with my sourdough starter lately so I needed help. Note, I'm not a sourdough expert. I followed the instructions that came with the delivery and wow, it took just a few hours for the starter to double in size, something I hadn't seen before, I actually had to take some out of the jar to prevent overflowing. I could start baking on the same day I and my bread turned out to be delicious.

This starter is brilliant very healthy. I backed my first sourdough and I’m very pleased with my first attempt. The instructions are very clear.

Item arrived one day early👍. Unpacked immediately at 11.00 am approx. on day of delivery and made up starter exactly as per instructions, its now 15.00 hours and its already half way up the jar👍👍!!!Looks excellent with a beautiful sour aroma.Will leave another review when finished first bake.

Worth noting that there is no airtight jar even though one is shown in the photo advertising the product, which arrived in a waterproof envelope. So I ordered a jar which arrived the next day. Then I was able to feed the sourdough starter and I’m pleased to say that it is alive and well producing bubbles beautifully in the warm cupboard housing my heating/hot water boiler.

To be absolutely fair to KOMBUCHAORGANIC I have yet to add culture to bread ingredients and bake a loaf , but I have followed instructions and I am nurturing the culture . I just feel that I have been taken advantage of exposing my naivety , since all that is required is flour & water !

I was struggling with my own starter so decided to buy a good quality one and work with that and this has proved excellent. Really good quality starter which will work straight out of the fridge. Well worth the money - should have done it years ago.

This starter works just fine. I made my first ever sourdough loaf in a breadmaker with great ease. However, the constant feeding and fussing is not for me and I wasn't making enough bread to use it, and if I wasn't feeding it properly it didn't make sourdough correctly, and I finally poured it down the sink. I already have a dog and a chameleon and didn't want another mouth to feed. It's like having a tamagotchi in your fridge. One star off even though it does its job, because others might also be ignorant of the faff involved.
