GameSir G8 Controller

While I was pontificating over the value of getting a Steam Deck when I wouldn't really use it much and it would never leave the house, I came across this product. It works really well for streaming from my gaming PC with Steam Link or anywhere using Games Pass. For the latter you do need a solid 5G or WiFi signal though.It is very comfy, seems very well put together, and expands out up to 19cm. Holds my Sony Xperia 1 V easily, giving me a 120Hz 4K OLED mobile gaming experience. On my home LAN with everything tweaked it runs very smoothly. You will feel the input latency on things like fighting games and driving games, but for open-world games with a slower pace it is perfect. I even managed a few drops on Helldivers 2 with it!Time will tell if the build quality holds up, but so far I am very glad I found this before spending the £ on a Steam Deck. Yes I will be spending more on electricity running my gaming PC too, but for the rare occasions I will fire this up I feel it is justified.

Bought this to use with my Samsung S25 Ultra. Brilliant gaming handheld accessory, the way it's laid out (like a PlayStation controller) makes it very comfortable whilst gaming. Would highly recommend!

4 Stars because it doesn't have usb-c passthrough so I can't hook a screen up to my phone. Otherwise, I'm very happy with it.

I use this with Geforce Now on the Pixel 8 Pro and the quality is brilliant.The ergonomics are great, much better for larger hands compared to the Razer Kishi and Backbone One.Responsive, nice layout. 10/10

Picked this up to use while travelling with a USB iPhone. After about 2 months month the buttons and stick stopped working on the left side. The app didn't help fix it and there was no response from Gamesir support. Horrendous experience that has cost me money. Don't recommend.

If you think any controller is going to be plug and play for ALL games, then you are going to be disappointed. A lot of the new landscape Games natively support controllers. For those that don’t have native support but do have onscreen Touch controls (pic 1), you can either download a profile for that game via the GameSir app (pic 2) or create your own.You can also use cloud gaming services or connect to your console or PC using apps like Steam Link. I use the Appollo app (on PC) connected to the Artemis app (on Android) to stream ALL my games on my PC to my phone - If you want to do this outside of your network, you can do so by having Tailscale installed on your phone and PC to create a personal VPN tunnel between your devices.This method is not for people who are not tech savvy, or as they are commonly known, iPhone users. Very surprised by how comfortable and ergonomic this controller is. I may have to upgrade to the Bluetooth version due to this.Feels amazing and is now my favourite controller.The analogue sticks are great, not stiff at all.The d pad, r1/l1 and back buttons are a little clicky, but I don't mind.App works well, easy to configure.Recommend gamesir and this controller!
