The torch works great for it's pricePuts put plenty of heat and isn't too hard to focus. I melted a thin silver bezel on my first attempt getting too close and I had a bit of trouble getting thin bezels mounted on much thicker gauge silver but I think there is a learning curve here. Also, not sure how safe or smart it is but I got a long adapter hose to connect this gun to a 20 pound propane tank. I haven't thought about running out of gas in so so long

Why these are not sold at every big box store is beyond me. They make plumbing copper so much easier.

i was a little worried it was being over hyped and I'd be sorry I didn't stick with bernzo. However, in one day I put it through it's paced and it performed exactly as well as my 40yr old bernzo igniter torch on hose (which a plumber working for me stole)I can leave the gas on with the burner out but ready. The only thing I won't know is some, not all igniters from this country break pretty fast. If that happens I'll revise this review. But it's an initial 5 star. And it really deserves a 4 star for good but not amazing build quality but the 5th star is because this is less then half the cost of the major brand name. Closer to a 1/3. That deserves a start

I worked 20 years in HVAC and I remember back then this type torch would cost over $100. This one functions just as well as the one I had back then, and not only that my old one I had to use a striker to ignite it. Good tool, I have already silver soldered a few joints with it, and yes it works fine with Mapp gas.
