The media could not be loaded. As I enter the car Phone connects to ApplePlay via wifi and I can connect to my OBD via Bluetooth by launching the App Car ScannerConnection is reliable and it fees solid.I can now monitor oil temperature, boost, etc

Don't do what I did and end up buying two supposedly elm327 readers that were half the price of this and did not work.This works. Yes it's more expensive but it works.If you want an elm327 with the proper chipset that works. Just buy this. I unlocked 2 hidden features on my car with this reader using a free app called car scanner in 30 seconds.Brilliant stuff

Working good. Flexible about apps to use. Connection is stable. Working with Android no problem.

Vgate iCar Pro 2S Bluetooth OBD2 Code ReaderThe Vgate iCar OBD2 code reader comes in a very nice black box with a magnetic catch. Inside the box, the OBD2 device is held securely in a cut-out in the sponge liner. Included are an instruction leaflet and a booklet with QR codes for loading different OBD2 phone apps.Of the OBD2 diagnostic tools available to download I chose three from the included booklet, Car Scanner, Auto Doctor and Four Stroke. The first two were almost identical in operation with a front menu of outline graphics to choose the functions, the last one, Four Stroke, opted for a simpler layout with icon graphics for choosing the various functions. On the Car Scanner and Auto Doctor menu screen some options were shown in blue and others in grey, indicating which ones were free and which require a subscription. Whereas, Four Stroke is a pay to download App (£9.99).Car Scanner and Auto Doctor Apps display similar data just in a slightly different way and both offer premium (paid for) versions that will show extra information. However, for this review, I stuck to the free versions.After plugging the Vgate iCar Pro Reader into the diagnostic port, in the case of my Lexus deep below the steering wheel, it is a simple matter of connecting the device to the phone via Bluetooth, this takes just seconds. The App can display the status of various diagnostic trouble codes to let you know if there are problems with the vehicle. The free version apps will not allow you to clear the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) whereas the paid version can. However, if there is a problem then it’s probably a good idea to have your service garage fix it rather than just ignoring it. The Apps can also give information about the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) but only (it seems) in the paid version.The Vgate iCar Pro 2S OBD2 code reader can provide some useful data but for more in depth information you will have to pay a subscription.

Really simple to use just plug it into your OBD 2 port, download the app and connect the two together. The interface was easy to use, and the scans didn't take long at all.If you want a cheap and quick way to diagnose faults with your vehicle, this is a great investment. One small tip, be sure to remove this from your OBD 2 port, because it does create a drain on your battery while the car is turned off!

Great item. Good diagnostic tool. Easy to use

This device plugs into the OBD II socket in your car and reads any fault codes indicating what if any service or mechanical issues need attention. First however you need an app on your smartphone to connect via Bluetooth to the iCar 25. These are available from the Goggle or iPhone stores. I chose OBD Auto Doctor for my Android phone downloaded and installed it. After completing the registration you quickly receive an email from Auto Doctor and this enables you to print off there one sheet of instructions for connecting to the iCar 25 OBDII reader. What you need to be aware of is that the iCar 25 has two Bluetooth addresses - one is Vlink-Android and the other IOS-Vlink. Stupid me initially connected to the IOS one which meant the Auto Doctor couldn't connect to the iCar 25. It eventually dawned on me that I had got it wrong so once I had disconnected everything and started again, I was able to connect my phone to Vlink-Android and Auto Doctor was also able to connect to my car and read the data stored in the Engine Management System. It was at this point you realise that the free version provides only limited data readouts and anything significant is going to cost US dollars and conveniently the prices are published by the app at the beginning of the title of the data you might want to look at. This is the point when I disconnected the device. In summary a very handy device which no doubt can tell you precisely whatever is wrong with your engine. Almost immediately Rick from Auto Doctor emailed me with the generous offer of a free five day email course to become an expert on OBDII readouts. and I have subscribed to their service.
