Sturdy bike, excellent value
The media could not be loaded. I love the DYU bike. It’s rugged, well-made with hi-capacity battery, a powerful motor, and is – all in all - an excellent value for money. On its downside, it is on a heavy side, and the rear light indicator is not powered from the bike’s battery, as the front one is, but from 2 x AAA batteries in an enclosure that is fiendishly tricky to remove in order to replace the batteries. What I and some others have experienced, is an initial difficulty with fully understanding the novel way its battery is locked onto the bike. However, this DYU feature represents a major advantage for the bike compared to Giant.Let me explain. With the Giant’s EASE – E bike that I was replacing, the locking mechanism was on the bike itself, whilst with DYU bike the locking mechanism is on the battery. This means that, unlike with the Giant bikes that are targeted by the battery thieves, when turned OFF, DYU battery is not much use without the key.The battery lock has 4 positions – UNLOCK, PUSH, OFF plus ON – see photo. To insert the battery into the bike, turn the key in the UNLOCK position. Once the battery is inserted, to turn the battery ON one needs to turn the key clockwise through the PUSH and OFF into ON position before withdrawing the key. It is only in that position that the battery can provide power to the motor and the front light. To check the battery status, when the on/off button on the top of the battery is briefly pressed, there will be a temporary indication of the status of the battery charge on the 3 bars indicator above it – see photo. When the on/off button on the bike is turned ON (depressed), there is a permanent indication on the bike LED indicator that the bike is ready for a motor-assisted ride – see photo. At the end of the ride, one has a choice of leaving the battery in the bike or taking it out. In either case, one can charge the battery from a supplied mains 46V charger via a charging port on the opposite side to the lock. If left in the bike, one should turn the battery lock from ON back to OFF position.

Best bicycle
Best purchase I made.... the bicycle is heavy but easy to put together, battery lasts for over 36 miles, you can cycle 5 miles in 15 minutes at a speed of 18 or 19 kilometres an hour

Excellent product, excellent value, excellent service
Not used to having an e-bike battery with a lock, I wrongly concluded that the battery was faulty and, upon reporting it, I was promptly sent a replacement bike, because they do not keep spare batteries.Upon assembling the second bike I discovered my fault - that the battery of the first DYU bike was OK, not faulty! Once I tested its ride I liked it so much, (compared to my Giant e-bike that was stolen), that I decided to buy both bikes, and use the second DYU bike as a replacement for my son's Giant e-bike that was 'on its last legs'!Overall, the DYU bike I bought is an excellent product, of excellent value, supported by an excellent service. Compared to Giant EASE-E bikes they are replacing they have advantage in a more robust construction with thicker tyres, disk-brakes both front and back, front suspension, higher capacity battery and more powerful motor, not to mention the half price!Photos show my two DYU bikes with the front one's seat folded to insert the battery underneath.

Well I've had this bike for 8 months and sadly on the way home, I lost power thou all of the lights are on :( I adore this bike and have done plenty of long rides with it and has taken me to and from work in all weather conditions. My brother going to look at it in the garage cos I cannot figure out what has gone wrong, I am really gutted that this bike has sadly packed up on me :'( Lights are on but nobody is home :'(

After sales and quality are great.
Bought for the wife in August, she uses it to commute around 3 miles 4 or 5 times a week, the battery lasts around 2-3 weeks, she loves it and wouldn't go back to steam powered now, we had a problem with the rear light(battery powered) kept going off after hitting a bump or pothole, it was replaced in a couple of days, the bike is very sturdy and looks great, I go and meet her sometimes on my normal town bike and she leaves me behind without trying, we would highly recommend this bike for the quality and after sales service.

No separate power and gears
I'm 5'2" can just about ride this on the lowest saddle setting. There is no separate assistance level, it is integral with the gears.Great to ride. I can carry alot of stuff on the pannier, and in the basket. Throttle is good and has cruise control. Good value for money. Great battery life. No battery sag on low battery.

Not that easy to assemble
Once it had been released from the box it became apparent that this is a two person operation to assemble, it is heavy, the video which accompanies the assembly is not as comprehensive as it could or should have been, it also skips over some important facts. However once assembled it is a good bike if a bit on the heavy side, also the leg length would be a problem for anyone under 5ft 8inches as it does not adjust for anyone under that height or with a shorter leg length, I would suggest 31inch inside trouser length as a minimum.Electric assist is powerful and a further feature that it can be riden using electric power alone is a plus, how long the battery would last using this mode is uncertain.Over all so far a good purchase. We bought a comfortable seat cover £10.99 fromHalfords bear in mind this would increase leg length by 1/2 an inch

Bad experience
The lock on the bike battery came faulty. The company refused to replace the battery despite my numerous attempts and then when I finally escalated the issue to Amazon they proceeded to create as many hurdles to stop me sending the bike back
