e.l.f. Power Grip Matte Primer, Gel-Based & Hydrating Face Primer For Smoothing Skin & Gripping Makeup, Moisturizes & Primes, Vegan & Cruelty-Free

I love the elf grip primers (regular blue and pink) but am on the more oily end of the combination skin spectrum. I tried this primer that I don’t always see in stores right before realizing a lot of my oiliness would be helped via a pressed powder and powder puff instead of powder with a brush. But overall the combo of this primer (I use on my face and eyelids) and my usual liquid foundation routine plus baked/pressed in (powder puff) powder helps lock my makeup in all day.I work in a hot/dryer part of California. I work remotely for most of rhe weekday mornings and at a bar four nights a week. My long days I wear makeup from 9am-12am and this primer along with a mini powder puff and blotting powder In my work bag helps keep the oiliness at bay!

Obsessed! It has an interesting consistency but it works! I’m an oily skin girly (I’ve tried an TON of primer products on the market) and this primer helps mattify my skin and set my makeup up for all day success !

I recently tried the e.l.f. Matte Power Grip Primer and overall, I’m pretty happy with it! The formula is noticeably thicker than the original Power Grip, which took a little getting used to during application. It spreads well but feels a bit heavier on the skin at first.It’s also not quite as tacky as the regular version, so the grip isn't as intense — but it still holds makeup in place nicely throughout the day, especially for my combo-to-oily skin. I do appreciate the matte finish, which helps keep shine under control.All in all, it’s a solid product if you're looking for a mattifying primer with decent staying power. Just know it's a bit different from the original!

Super skeptical at first, but works well! I use this to help keep my makeup from rubbing off underneath my OR mask. It absolutely works & it keeps my face slightly more matte than normal.

LOVE. great product for a base, keeps makeup stuck down all day. nice matte formula that doesn't leave your base looking dull. repurchased many times and will continue to.

I recently tried a mattifying primer that claims to provide a gripping effect, and while it definitely delivers on that front, I found it doesn't mattify as much as I had hoped. During the day, especially on hot and sweaty days, I'm hesitant to wear it because I worry it might not hold up. However, at night, it does a much better job of controlling shine and keeping my makeup in place. If you’re looking for a primer that grips well for long-lasting wear, this one is a solid choice, but be cautious if you're prone to sweating during the day. Overall, it works great for evening events!

I have terrible skin issues and this is the only primer that doesn’t make my makeup look disgusting by noon! I would highly recommend it. I definitely think putting on moisturizer waiting 2-3 minutes and then applying this helps! I use water based foundation so I have to use water based primer. This one I believe comes in both options and the water based one works great for me!!
