I recently purchased four Amazon Basics Exterior Door Knobs with Keyed Lock and Deadbolt in Matte Black for my new home, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! For the price, I was shocked at the quality. Install was easy and parts work smoothly. However, the knob has a dent right on top. That’s the only reason for the star deduction. There was no damage to the box, it came this way. I didn’t want to roll the dice with exchanging and getting another damaged one.

Don't buy this. If you do buy it, don't buy it in black. It scratches. Buy I in gold/brass tone.I am so angry!!!I needed to replace an old, broken lock set on my front and only door in my condo. My handyman said to buy a lock and he will replace it. I bought this one, with his approval. He had to reschedule fixing my door from January until last week. AFTER THE RETURN WINDOW .The handyman isn't the problem. He replaced three of my neighbors locks.He said the doorknob was GARBAGE. DEFECTIVE. He couldn't install it. NOW I HAVE NO LOCK. I CANT EVEN CLOSE MY FRONT DOOR UNLOCKED. I can't leave my home because we my door will be wide open.The door knob is down scratched that it looks like someone already broke in. Such a nightmareMy dog bites and my Smith and Wesson is more reliable than this garbage door knob. Thank goodness because anyone could push my door open.What a nightmare. I am put of pocket the cost of this lock AND the handyman fee (4x the cost of the lock).I bought this because I can't afford the $100 sets in the hardware store.I tried to install this myself unsuccessfully. I am sitting here crying. I can't afford to pay a handyman until next month. I am on a very limited income.I have been happy with the quality of Amazon Basics products up until now.This is what the door know looks like after the handyman gave up on it.

The media could not be loaded. We purchased this handle/deadbolt set to replace the front door entry way locks to our home. Right out of the package, the set looks very nice with a solid finish that does not scratch off easily. Best of all, the locks are adjustable (thank goodness) for two different standard door sizes. (Ours required the non-default adjustment.) Everything was easy to install with all the screws and parts included. (You'll need your own Philips screwdriver to do the work.) Once installed, everything looks great; again with a nice looking finish on the parts. Now, unfortunately there is a con or negative thing to say about this product and it's a pretty big con: The deadbolt knob does not feel tight or solid in place in comparison with the deadbolt that was removed from the door. This one feels very cheaply made as the knob is wiggly or lose, even when locked. In short, this set looks great and works, but there are much better made products out there. My advice, find one you like to the touch. This is something that you need to know feels solid enough to fully protect your home. Personally, I'll be looking for a better replacement.
